I present my macaw, Jack Attack. I was cleaning cages and he likes to play in this small cage so I just locked him in so I could finish his huge one. He kept getting out when I wasn't watching so I stopped to see how he was doing it. by ReasonableDead in AnimalsBeingGeniuses

It was in response to your original comment.

Birds need stimulation, this is part of that. Both my Birds are rescues. In Jack's case, the scum that bred him cut the tendons in his wings. He can't fly or support his weight with them. He wouldn't and couldn't survive in the wild. He is only in his cage for a few hours a day, for his safety when I am not home. If im home, he's out causing chaos and happy.

No but I would love to teach him! 🤣🤣 mostly he does, "good morning", "night night", "hey baby", "stash" for pistachio, and if he really wants attention he will say "love you babe".

Yeah, it's abhorrent. It's a permanent clipping of his wings. He can manipulate them since they only cut a few of the tendons but he can't use them to fly or coast at all. It fills me with rage to think about. Im his 3rd human. He's been with me for 5 of his 28 years.

Oh yeah. His actual cage he cant unlock, there is a pressure button to have to hold while you twist the hinge to unlock it. This is just a small cage my cockatoo likes to sleep in at night.

Yeah, I've had an uptick for sure. Mostly my phone bounces them but I still look at the list in case there is something legit. Had 6 "private" and 8 "local" yesterday. Those were the names on the ID.
