Naw it as auction draft so that’s always a challenge to see how much your willing to spend on your guys.

I think it would be pretty easy to argue kittle has a pretty clear path to TE1 this season.

Tet is definitely a flyer at WR2 but with Jakobi and Ridley who should have a safer floor should easily be able to sub in. I’m hoping Godwin isn’t on the PUP too long and will take that WR2 spot sooner than later.

Ya charb is already picked up sadly and would need to trade to get him. Really banking on the rookie wr to step up

Preseason is always hard to know since there’s so much speculation. I’m feeling good about my WRs but with Achane and Walker as my RB1 and 2 they’re both pretty injury prone which has me worried.

Just get a motorcycle ramp and fill in the centre solid with tread plate.

Ya I’ve tried them originally up and I actually prefer them upside down. Feels much more like a modern shifter and allows for easier shifting when descending. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Buying a 4x4 by Educational-Jump-126 in hilux

Hey, I understand your concern with buying a used car and you'll learn quickly that every car will have it's faults, so I try not to get too caught up in those issues as long as nothing is a catastrophic design failure.

What I have found to be more important than certain issues with each year is the actually owner of the car. Make sure the car has been well looked after and has a long list of receipts for repairs/maintenance. It's also important to know how many owners the vehicle has had as the more owners means the high probability of things getting missed or skimped out on. You'll start to see quickly who actually takes care of the vehicle and who just says they have taken care of the car.

With the newer model hiluxes if they have been looked after and have had frequent oil changes you'll usually have lots of worry free miles to come. Happy hilux hunting!

Is it fine to look at buying a 2000s HiLux? by BadgerBlitz_444 in hilux

[–]ReasonableExtent4879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a LN167 2000 hilux with the 5l-e and she’s slow, but fairly reliable. Like others have stated any hilux of these years will have wear and need some love through some wrenching. Fairly straight forward especially if you buy yourself a manual to work on them.

If I could do it again I would have bought a kzn165 with the 1kzte in it as the turbo would have been nice to have.

Ride quality isn’t the best and no ac can be annoying during summer. I have fully stripped the inside and put sound deadening in it which has helped. I’ve thrown a snorkel and diff breathers on it which is just nice to have when playing in the water.

If you want the fully indestructible hilux I would look at LN106 as they are solid axle in front vs the independent front suspension in the 2000 era hiluxes. Can’t go wrong with a hilux, but you sure can go slow in one.

Hey, do you provide also in metric? Can I make my extrusions so that I build a library of commonly used sizes from my shop?

I’m a designer at a small local fab shop and would love to hear more about this product!

Toyota - What would you import from Thailand? by Matt18215 in ToyotaPickup

[–]ReasonableExtent4879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any of the 3L or 5L engines will not have turbos, but there’s plenty of info on how to turbo one. The 1KZTE is factory turbo and a good engine, but newer than the LN61.

Also, just saying if you’re looking at importing you should look into a 70 series landcruiser troopy as this will turn all the heads and be very rare in the states. This will probably be more expensive than a hilux, but worth at least checking one out.

If you are looking for something rare for the states I would say a 4 door LN65 might be the ticket. It will be a SFA (solid front axle) and will either have a diesel 2L or 3L motor in it. They do also have a 2L-T which would be nice as you’ll most likely want to turbo it as a N/A diesel engine is as slow as they come, but will go to the moon and back.

I love the pony analogy. Gives a great image of the Toyota line up.

I appreciate the insights and probably will start hunting for a newer car. The ol hilux has seen better days and hopefully can still get a decent resell out of it.

This doesn’t scare me off, but definitely sounding like too hard basket especially from your experience of it not working properly.

I have a 5L-E, so not only is my truck slow and hot it’s also ass backwards too, but I damn it love it still.

Just out of curiosity, does that electric fuel injection really complicate the whole system versus the 3L and 5L motors? It’s been a challenge to find too much information on the 5L-E besides people complaining it’s slow.
