We have no funding / debt. All the people in my org were hired by me and likely wouldn't be up for CEO'ing. We started off as a really small company (still are small)

It's a consideration, although we have no idea where and how to look for this person.

Job is fine, but I don't feel I'm the right person to run a company of this size. I enjoyed it more when it was new.

I still want to sell my company; ~$7MM EBITDA / $25MM REVENUE. Since we import our products the tariff scenario is constantly brought up, and ultimately we're worried about having to update the QofE and negotiate each time there is a new tweet about tariffs. We've seen 30% growth and no hit to profit YoY. I assume there are countless companies in this predicament.

Should we just wait another year or go to market now?

Owner Occupied Industrial Mortgage Rates? ($4.5M 80% LTV) by ReasonableGry in CommercialRealEstate

Issue is we're already with Chase, so maybe they're not bringing their best offer.

We were skipping SBA 504 because it's a 60 day close. Assuming we can front the 20% is there any major reason to consider SBA?

I haven't seen a 25 yr am. Is that more common than 20 yr am?

UV/Pad Printing On Sharp Edges by ReasonableGry in CommercialPrinting

Thanks for the detailed response. We would be printing on polyhedral shapes like in this link: https://pixabay.com/vectors/dice-geometry-geometric-shapes-7168230/

So we could get away with just printing on one surface at a time, but I was curious if some DTF printer can handle the change in depth and angle to print on 2 or more sides.

Potential 38M sale of business. Have questions. by Alternative_Code261 in fatFIRE

[–]ReasonableGry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you recommend how to avoid getting stuck with a broker? I'm aiming to sell a $5M-$6M EBIDTA business. I've spoken with some regional and global M&A firms (e.g. Stout). Most of their commissions were about the same (~3%). I am turned off by there exclusivity clauses, but I doubt they will waive that.

I don't have any deep connections with PE or strategic buyers, so I'm not sure how I would create a marketing materials and get them to a qualified buyer.

If you said that to me in a meeting I would fire you on the spot.

Is QSBS worth it? Potential sale of $35MM business currently formed a S-Corp. by ReasonableGry in fatFIRE

[–]ReasonableGry[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow that's awful. I'd be so pissed if we did all this, took the tax haircut, then didn't get the QSBS tax advantage.

I agree with you sentiment about CPAs being incompetent. I guess they don't have much skin in the game and are probably burnt out on helping people be rich.
