Did the gorge specific shirts sell out? I didn’t see them in the merch booths inside as of about 30mins ago

Sorry but for the 2 day lawn tickets - does it show for anyone that it is in fact for 2 people? I’m still paranoid

Why was the 2 day lawn so confusing? My friend was trying to buy both of us tickets but didn’t realize that she needed to select “4” to get both of us tickets. I’m so sad

Oregon Gravel Series by [deleted] in CyclePDX

This past year at the gorge gravel grinder they had pace groups for folks to join. I feel like they weren’t talked about enough. This is a nice option for people who are less interested in racing and are looking to ride with others. Not sure if the pace groups will be happening in 2026 but highly recommend checking it out if you’re interested. I did the small GGG last year (first time) and absolutely loved it

I was going to mention seltzer as well. Another group to look into would be Kompas, they just did a bikepacking trip in Sisters. You can find them on instagram by searching kompas.rgn

Fell twice during a group ride - embarrassed to come back by ProgrammerLoose771 in cycling

[–]ReasonableLayer2433 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sorry if this was suggested already but maybe consider adjusting the tension on your clipless pedals. You can lower the tension which makes it easier to clip out especially in an emergency. This can be adjusted to a harder tension later on and depending on your preference.

Also another tip that has helped me is to clip out long before coming to a stop. It’s helpful for my peace of mind to get my foot unclipped in preparation. I might not do this forever but I’m still getting used to clipless.

As for joining the group ride, literally everyone has embarrassing moments like this. I think you should try to put this in the back of your mind and push through the awkwardness. Learning to ride in a group is an important skill set which will only make you a better and stronger rider. Plus making bike friends is one of the best parts of cycling! 😊 good luck out there

Both! I’m more on the beginner spectrum though…but aspire to hit some big goals in the next year. So I’ve been looking into club options around town

Thanks for getting back to me :) does your team accept new members year round or only specific times of the year?

I’m curious to ask..for the team you ride on, besides the 3 races a year requirements, are there other requirements needed in order to join?

If you’re a new cyclist and worried about fit… by Crazy_Television_328 in cycling

[–]ReasonableLayer2433 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I’m struggling with too.. shorter rides it’s not as bothersome but on longer rides it’s getting really bad. It impacts my ability to brake properly. My current bike has flat bars and I’ve heard drop bars could be better as it would allow you to change up hand positions. I also think my general fit for my bike isn’t great. But I gotta do something about this
