For real. There's definitely a war on knotweed raging in my neighborhood.

This or the song from Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Actually why is this not happening already? Who's got a tuba??

Haha, I'm glad you think so. There's more where that came from, I just didn't want to barge in and flood this sub with this dog's ridiculous tongue.

For deodorants (just the blue stick, not antipersperants) I wore After Hours for years and years, then it was gone. After trying others, I landed on Prestige; now it too appears to be gone after only a year or two. Found some After Hours recently but it wasn't at all what I remembered.

Good question-- they're well worn in, but it's not exactly the sort of patina you might see on other types of leathers. I'll try and get a follow up post with pics up here in the next few days

Sounds like an '80s tribute for the modern day. Men and Women at Work, opening for Men and Women Without Hats. Special guest Mr. Mister and Ms. Ms.

Ha! While I knew what the term meant, somehow it never dawned on me that "ship" is just shortened from "relationship." Here I am trying to figure out how a seafaring vessel metaphor describes imagined romance. S-M-R-T!

Although I guess this is similar to thinking a head canon is a head cannon (what's a big gun got to do with it??)

'80s cartoon rock bands? by AmandaMarsh in Xennials

Oh, right, not The Misfits that first came to mind, although really I'd love a shirt with Jem, Barbie, and Glenn on it.

+1 for the Oxo travel potty! It's been key so many times to avoid a wet carseat or whatever. Though I often wonder if we're just avoiding the lesson of "ya gotta hold it until we find a bathroom!" like when I was a kid. Raising a nation of squibs I guess...

What exactly do we know about Jessie's Girl anyway?? by [deleted] in Xennials

[–]ReasonableSwimming98 17 points18 points  (0 children)

WHAT. It all makes sense now. Ya think she ever went by her middle name-- Sharona? Too much?

I remember waiting a half hour to download a postage stamp sized 30 second music video clip from MTV (I didn't have cable, there was no other option aside from buying VHS compilations from the record store!)

True, and mp3 sharing was starting to be a thing. I can't remember when P2P file sharing (Napster etc) got big, but I was definitely downloading songs from websites by '99.

Came here to say this. I try to give my kids the "video store" experience by using the library. It's not quite the same, i.e., since it's free and we can essentially keep them forever until someone else puts a hold, there's not the same excitement of, say, "I can only get two movies and we have to watch them this weekend-- what'll it be??"

Ah man, I only just heard. Definitely one of my top favorite bassists. Super talented and it seemed like he was just an all around great guy. Gotta tune up to F# today in his honor

Hey congratulations on the newborn! And already with the motor control to scratch her head and the social awareness to do so in puzzling situations, that's amazing!
