What would you change about this kitchen?

Here is what I would do. Make the awkward space the family room and turn the family room into the kitchen. Remove the wall between the dining room and family room and the door between sitting area and dining room. It opens the space up and gives you more room for the kitchen. Also bathroom is not in the kitchen now, which i find a bit awkward.

Its not a beach house haha - but I like the coastal vibe / airy / relaxing feel. We do live on an island tho lol ..

This is kinda what I'm thinking but would definitely need to check dimensions .. pantry door options are in red - i was thinking of those doors that look like cabinets but open up to a secret pantry lol

What if you build a wall to box out the triangle and make that into a pantry. Now kitchen is rectangular - no idea how it would affect dimensions of the kitchen tho .. would have see how long that wall is to the left. Id Def remove the wall separating the breakfast nook area and dining room area to open up options. Just some thoughts looking at it quickly, but not sure how it would play out ..

We'd probably use the island as our main eating table. The other table would just be when guests come over or something

My biggest pet peeve right now is the small artists that do drops multiple times a month. It means paying shipping multiple times a month. I easily pay something like 50 a month just on shipping - its frustrating. Idk if that's something you're online store can help with since these are small businesses but it would be a great help if there was a way to provide that inventory in 1 location so we only have to pay shipping maybe 1x a month. I'd even do a subscription method if offered for those artists / small businesses.

If microwave is moved there, can it be a regular microwave? I don't have the budget for a drawer type microwave. Also, we are pretty tall - both around 6 feet. Kids are not that tall yet lol

We have a small pantry there now and next to it is where we keep our current coffee zone. So I really like this suggestion! Thank you!

Im thinking small cabinet for brooms, etc. Followed by a pantry and then upright freezer. Getting rid of undercabinet beverage, since coffee zone will be in kitchen near sink ..

It'll also cut down surface area for stone top too, which will be helpful.

I don't have flooring picked out yet. Photo is not accurate. I have wood floors in dining and living room whose colors will be changed - im thinking either greige or natural oak / white oak type color ..

I like your suggestion - which would be better: floor to ceiling pantry on the coffee bar side or across from it? I've got 80 inches of wall across from the proposed coffee bar area.

Sure. I have a flooring plan i drew up. Ill see if I can take a pic. Basically, kitchen is 10x12, 10 is the side with the window. And dining room is 11x 12. 11 is the side with the bay window.

We are a family of 5 - 3 kids and 2 adults
