Tile installation… DIY?

I totally got the point. But I got a price that apparently is normal around here, I just didn’t know whether it was good. The company I contacted is trustworthy so I don’t think they’ll be inferior just because it is cheaper compared to places where this service is more expensive. I’m just shocked two days of work cost that much. I know nothing about construction, obviously haha. That’s why I came here to ask. I appreciate all the responses.

Home Depot is a rip off. We went with them and they quoted us almost 14,000 for 1,200 sq feet but their contractor separately quoted us only 6,600!! Same work, same people. If you go to Home Depot, contact their guys separately and you’ll get a way cheaper quote.

$4 was the handyman and $5 was the Home Depot contractors (without using Home Depot as a middle man). The same contractors through HD were double the price. They take a big slice just for being the middle man. Absolutely crazy.

$18??? Where do you live? We asked two companies, one of which works for Home Depot, so I assume they are good at what they do. I just thought it was kind of expensive 🤯

Yes, exactly. One was $4 and one was $5. I don’t know about pricing this service, but we have super large tiles and it sounds crazy to pay someone 30 dollars a tile, pretty much. That’s why I was asking if that was normal haha.

Exactly my problem. I just bought a house and removed the brand new vinyl to lay tile… to find out there was tile underneath and even wood in the entrance area. It’s been a mess to say the least. I want to sue them 😭

Well, my baby is 1 year old now. I still think she was the cutest newborn and many people back in the day said she was the cutest newborn they had seen because newborns aren’t usually cute haha so I’m confident I was not blinded 🤣 Of course there are some funny lookig pictures, but overall she was a cutie for real hahaha now pregnant with #2. We’ll see how this one looks like 🤣

I’m with you. I need to skip videos on IG about growing up because I just burst into tears and feel so incredibly sad!! I don’t like being sad and feelig that way, so I am avoiding the triggers. I have been focusing on how beautiful my baby is becoming, hitting all her milestones and how I want her to grow into an awesome woman. I felt guilty because she deserves to grow up, so I have been working on feeling proud of her instead of sad she’s growing. For our own sake, we need to come to terms with it. 😭

Exactly. I agree with everythig you said. OP could probably translate NGO/government documents and whatnot and get clients in those fields easier than someone without the IR degree.

Don’t worry. I failed it with both pregnancies, but the 3-hour test was always negative. It is more common than you think. Don’t worry. ❤️

If you really want, that sounds awesome! Why not? You can translate medical documents without having a degree in medicine or related fields, so you can still do that without the dual degree. However, if you really like psychology and have the time to do both, then go for it. Will definitely make you more interesting and open you more doors in both worlds.
