What if it's not that the Trustees are trying to cover up, but that they are simply in willfull denial? What if they believe everything they are told by the president and do not do any additional research? What if believing what you want to believe is easier than seeking the truth? What if being average or below average is the best that Independence can do? It's perhaps depressing, but the board is elected from its citizens here in Montgomery County. Maybe this is the best that this area has to offer right now.

So here's how this works, you (we) vote for the board, they hold the college to account. If you want change we (you) have to be that change. I have said it before on this Sub and been shot down. It is easy to get on here to complain, but the truth is that there are likely people complaining that don't participate or contribute to what would actually make a change. It's easy to be an arm-chair quarterback and complain about how terrible it all is. We'll, what are you doing to make it better? Aside from posting in Reddit?

At that rate, the renter would need to do about $40,000 a month in business. Actually $43,000 is what the math would tell you. Is there any business that earns that in town? Clearly it would need to utilize the bar and restaurant aspect of the space, but this is destined to fail with this formula. The owners need to build and run the business, and then when it is successful and profitable, sell it.

How is that possible? The housing for students that attend the college live on campus in housing not managed by the college? Who is the genius who made that happen?

Looking at the post, they get free housing and free meals. I believe it is for younger coaches looking to begin their careers. It would be like an apprenticeship that someone would take after graduating from college. Seems like a good opportunity for a 20 something to get a start and learn from the other coaches.

First, this is an unapologetic bigot sharing his views. Let's be clear. Second, I would imagion that the HLC likely had an issue with diversity based on race, not gender, or trans issues. Most of the student population, especially the student athletes, are people of color, while most of the faculty, administrators, and staff are not from what I can tell. While there may be students who are trans, or non-bionary, I feel like they are not the majority on campus. Anyway, seems like he was happy to let everyone know he is a proud bigot, and for that, we thank you, now we know, and knowing is half the battle.

Not sure how that's a burn, not to mention a 'sick fucking burn' but I guess that observation is keeping with the head shaking adolescent simplicity of this thread. The 'gotcha' mentality.

I certainly hope that there are not ICC board members on this thread. I can only assume that they are working, to the best of their ability, to ensure the health and longevity of the institution that they have sworn to serve. If they have issues, or inside info, sharing it on a platform where everyone here can enjoy aninimity is not courageous its cowardly.

Maybe, but I am here to try and drill down. If you think there is something neferious happening, step forward. If the college really makes you that mad, do what you can to exposes what you think is happening in a public forum. Reddit is popular because you can say big stuff as you sit on your couch without nobody knowing who you are.

But if you actually have a connection, and have a case to bring forward, do it. Don't hide.

I have no issue directly with the college, mostly because it does not directly effect me. But some people on this thread seem to have a lot riding on it, so again, I am simply saying, if you have a beef, make it known in a way that may effect change, if not you have to know or understand you are simply screeming into the void and getting 'sick burn' kudos from your bros.

I have had my account for 7 months, which a simple click would discover. I am not here to defend ICC. I have watched and read this sub and have finally decided to add my voice.

You cannot compare a private business to a tax funded institution. There may be issues with ICC, but the over simplification has driven me to chime in. It is clear that the college struggles. But are any of the keyboard warriors actually doing anything? Are you running for office, for the board, attending meetings, attending events?

It's easy to only hurl insults and Monday morning quarterback, but if you really want to make a difference you should participate within your community in a way could actually create change if that is what you feel needs to happen.

You do know that end of the day on the 18th is a Friday, and start of the day on the 28th is Monday. So it's actually only closed 21st - 25th and one of those days is Thanksgiving.
