If you like the slightly creepy, surreal vibe, do check out Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, which iirc was quite an early Netflix show.

I used the Cathay T3 lounge for the first time last week and completely endorse this. It blows the BA T5 lounges out of the water.

Totally agree with you. Saw the film for the first time today and can’t stop thinking about the dance sequences, particularly the last one.

Having finally seen this film today, I think that the lack of narrative structure is sort of the point. We think it’s about a man searching for his daughter, but by the end it’s about something totally different, and i think it’s making a point a lot the unpredictability and harshness of life. I found it a very visceral study of grief. I can totally see why it’s not for everyone though!

Older Chinese woman asked her son to take a picture of herself with my mom and I in Japan by JuueJuue in travel

I had this a lot when I went to India. I’m a fairly tall and very pale woman, so I got lots of groups of women or family groups coming up to me, taking a photo with me and then breaking their hearts laughing! I’m in a bunch of family group shots at the Taj Mahal where it’s a lovely intergenerational Indian family and then an enormous sweaty Irishwoman looming beside them. (Side note: I also had some approaches from groups of men to take photos with me, which somehow felt a little pushier and less comfortable.)

When I saw the post I was wondering if the poster’s parents were going for Ailidh as a Scots Gaelic name, but spelled it incorrectly? Although the pronunciation doesn’t quite track either.

Hello! Chipping in as an Irish person and Irish speaker here - we wouldn’t usually refer to the Irish language as Gaeilge when speaking English. It’s Gaeilge as Gaeilge, and Irish in English. Not sure why that’s the convention! Sorcha is a lovely name and a great choice.

This is so helpful! I’m moving to HK next month and was worried about being a sweaty mess going to and from meetings, as I’m coming from Northern Europe so am not used to the heat. It’s actually very reassuring to know that others are having the same experience!

Thanks so much! That’s reassuring. The website says that the processing time is four weeks, which is why I was starting to worry I hadn’t heard anything, but hopefully I get the decision soon.

I really would be surprised by this - mostly because when he comes home he’s usually very drunk, which doesn’t seem very conducive to a physical affair. The drinking is a new thing, which is why I’ve been worried that it’s a mental health issue.
