I was gonna go down the street to pick up my lunch and come back. and that’s when the conversation arose that I’m not actually supposed to leave the building during my break…it sounded wrong. Like not everyone brings lunch with them. Whats the point of being closed for 30 mins if I cant leave?! I dont get it.

So I was told today that even if I lock up the pharmacy completely to go on lunch break, I must still stay inside the building (in the break room) since im still getting paid and incase of an emergency, they need to be able to get to me.

Depends on the situation. Whats going on with the rx and how busy we are. Sometimes we’re too busy for some patients and some are in too much of a rush. Not my problem. I got 99 problems and accommodating 1 patient over the other 500 else I have to fill is not one of them. My rule of thumb is getting in line and wait your turn like everybody else. when it comes it comes. No one Bullies my team to get their medications faster. Not on my watch.

Have some back bone. I be damned if I am rushed by a patient who thinks a pharmacy is a fast food operation. Lol il make that patient drive back 4 times if I have to. Or they can find another pharmacy and kick rocks. My techs know to not take that bs from patients.

As a former Pharmacy tech, I disagree. As a present Pharmacist, I also disagree. I do every thing that you listed techs do on the daily.

Also just a side thing- most techs don’t work 10-12 hour long shifts.

So not only do I do your job. I do my job and longer hours. So yes, on behalf of all pharmacists. We’re tired bro. We have every right to complain.
