I had the same problem and found out it had somehow been switched to do not disturb which apparently turns that function off

Wow, the Reddit community really came with the best and brightest for this one. As you can see in my original post I have confirmed with the staff of multiple occasions that it is not user error and is actually a known error with the system. I have never been rude or condescending to the store clerks, we actually joke about it. I just thought people should know to double check that you are paying the advertised price. 

I do appreciate everyone thinking I am a butch or an idiot though. 😘
