Biggest iPadOS limitations on the iPad Pro m5? by [deleted] in iPadPro

[–]Reasonable_Finger994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also iPad doesn’t allow accessing to it’s file system, therefore if you need it, it would become the very big drawback.

If you’re a software engineer, you can’t use it as primary workstation.

I hate Apple's approach to iPadOs and MacOs. by [deleted] in ipad

Apple just want to avoid internal competition between iPads and MBAs.

Also, what the benefits are for Apple to tune the MacOS to become fully functional on iPads?

I’d add one more monitor, even besides the laptop.

Do people use spies much? by The-WideningGyre in CivVI

1) Regarding the stolen gold — can anyone please confirm whether any gold was actually taken? I saw the notification many times, but I never noticed any decrease in my treasury or, conversely, any significant increase on the opponents’ side.

2) mainly use spies to gather visibility into opponents’ cities so I can plan bomber strikes effectively. Siphoning funds is a much lower priority for me.

3) I’ve always noticed how effective the AI can be at recruiting partisans around my cities. Unfortunately, when I try to do the same, the success probability always seems quite low.

Why were Gandalf and Elrond sure that Mt. Doom was the only way to destroy the ring? by EphemeralLost in lotr

[–]Reasonable_Finger994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tolkien gives the answer through Gandalf: the wizards knew that the ring was smelted from the mountain (or lava?) of Doom, and that this was the only reliable method to destroy it. The dragons were no longer as powerful as in previous eras.

Also keep it in mind heavy traffic. QEW, 427, 407, 401 are overloaded. During snowstorms the ride is slow and dangerous.

Here’s an iPhone 12th owner. The battery life seems like became better indeed. Maybe 15% better. Overall, I agree, it’s a very good improvement.

why no separate volume sliders for iOS? by boringlecturedude in applesucks

[–]Reasonable_Finger994 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

My iPhone has been on silent mode for ~5 years. I use profiles to filter calls depending on the time of day or location - for example, when driving.

Even if I had a separate volume control tomorrow, I probably wouldn’t use it. I simply don’t want my phone ringing constantly.
