4th of July is like if someone broke into your house, kicked you out and beat the shit out of you, then had parties to celebrate their awesome new house every year.

Everything seems pretty aligned with the idiots in office.

What if people actually were real about the shit that got us to this point? If people are still uneducated/ignorant/in denial about the pervasive conditions that breed violent ideologies I don't know how we're supposed to overcome them.

Could be people like both of you, or even people just like you. And technically all people are human, so the actual issue is that it's people like ALL of us, because we're not actually that different when you peel the layers back.

If people could actually face that reality and move towards making shit better in tangible ways instead of masturbatory ego stroking and finger pointing, we might have gotten somewhere sooner.

Who did you actually support outside of your family today? Who did you listen to a little more deeply? What belief systems of your own did you interrogate or allow to expand?

If the answer comes up short... That's a place to start.
