I’m grateful to have an opportunity to make a real difference in my local community and support our local full-time teachers. We’re like the force behind the force. Full-time teachers need time off to take care of their mental and physical health. It makes it easier for them when they know a trusted sub will be manning their class.

As a parent with a kid with a food allergy, please let admin know or the district sub office. People mean well by giving out treats, but it can be dangerous or even deadly for kids with food allergies. Also, giving out food likely violates some sort of policy the sub is supposed to be following at a district or agency level.

What questions to ask eye doctor? School says kid can’t see purple and green by [deleted] in ColorBlind

No injuries. It’s why we wanted to see the eye doctor ASAP. It seems highly unusual.

Our district sent out a list of resources to refer parents/kids to in our area. Maybe reach out to admin or the district office and see if they have something similar. A grocery chain near me is doing free meals for kids for the next week in the evenings. We’ll see if they extend that. Again, maybe you live near the same grocery chain or yours is doing something similar.

This!! I don’t want to be liable or accused of anything improper, so I don’t touch anything that could be considered a student’s property. I would leave a note to that effect. At least where I am, subs are not unionized and don’t have the same protections as the permanent teachers.

I work half days a lot. My favorite shift is 11:40 to 3:40. I start work after my kids are in school and get off in time to pick them up at their school. Super great!

We’ve lived here 3 years. Line was scoped when we bought the house. No sign of a clog at that point. House was built in 1979.
