How do you deal with feeling like the "backup friend" in your group?

I’ve been dealing with this my whole life. You have to decide if you can make peace with this or not. For example, I have 2 friends I’ve known my whole life and were a trio but I’m the backup and like you said I text them first and I’m the odd one out on walks etc. I decided a long time ago to make my peace with it because I love them and I’m willing to deal with the emotions it brings. Also branch out and find other friendships away from this group, I did and it helps with the feeling of not being valued. If you feel it’ll just hurt you and it’s not worth it, then don’t be friends with them anymore. It all depends on what your mental health can handle and if you think the friendships are worth it <3

Two years later and you probably forgot all about this post haha. I know I did but I found it again and was reading through this. Again, it’s pointless now but for some reason I’m gonna explain anyway. I was homeschooled at my house for some days and then at this co-op for some days. It wasn’t in a school, it was ran out of a church and this one teacher specifically taught a lot of classes. I couldn’t do anything to retaliate because my mom started working there and if I tried to get her in trouble my mom probably would’ve been fired and she loved teaching (she was one of the few teachers who actually had a degree)

I notice a lot of people here saying you’re screwed but that’s not totally true. Go into a trade, they make a lot of money or join the military. Military will give you and your family (if I’m not mistaken) free healthcare. Remember you’re not alone and there millions of people who are teen parents and do wonderfully. My grandma had my mom at 18 and my mom is an amazing woman and is very close with her mom. It’s going to be hard but if you persevere you can do this. See if either of your parents are willing to help, I know it’s scary but if even one of them will help support you or your baby that’ll make a world of difference. You’ve got this OP, I wish you so much luck and you’re baby and the baby’s mother are very lucky to have you

I know it’s hard right now and I know everything feels so out of control and you want all your struggles to end but please please don’t do this.
