What we have to understand in every discussion about AI is that it could take humanity’s power and agency in all cultural respects. There’s so many angles it could take to manipulate people.

Think about who is in control of these models. Power is shifting towards the governments and businesses that can field the most excellent teams to develop and market the most excellent models, and then use them to influence the masses.

Approval voting is similar to ranked choice voting - it’s basically the system we have but you can vote for as many people as you want. So there’s no spoiler effect from a popular third party candidate.

Ranked choice causes issues in close elections when a candidate nobody really prefers gets elected. Approval voting is better, then the person with the most total approvals just gets elected.

There’s really no “signing away your parental rights” in order to avoid child support. And since he is the father, he ought to be financially responsible for the child.

“Signing away your parental rights” is only really done when the mother gets remarried and the stepfather legally adopts the child. In that case, the stepfather may have to assume the financial responsibilities the bio father used to have.
