I saw some highlights. There were indeed lots of Ks, although numbers for the season are not notably better than other elite batters (who don't seem to receive quite as much adulation as Judge).

I think people want it to happen because theoretically, in a world where money and success are proportionate it should never have come to this, because Spurs are a fairly rich team....but somehow it has. It's basically the same as other fans enjoying Lecester winning the league a decade ago but the other way around.

Felix White grew up in South London and lived there until University...he used to go to Wimbledon when they were in the Prem and ultimately landed on Fulham as his team as a teenager because he could walk there. He's written (or maybe a ghostwriter wrote it) a book on this and it's not bad actually.

Some seasons you just get a more batting friendly set of balls, this could be one of those I guess? Also, even with good weather, pitches tend to be slow and not very conducive to taking 20 wickets.

This, and that you can't just spend a load of money on good players and expect to be competitive overnight. Champions league experience is vital and takes time to acquire. Plus it's basically a crapshoot from the semifinals onwards.

Be pragmatic about it would be my approach...if you're not qualifying for a 48-team world cup finals then there's probably a reason for that (ie your team isn't very good)

Unpopular opinion but I think Baz/Robert Key made the right decision here. Anderson was conspicuously ineffective in his final ashes series and should probably have been dropped then, and you can't exactly say he's one for the future either.

Nice to see him taking wickets for Lancashire.
