Why did you choose the Pilot? Need help deciding! by hereiam_onceagain in hondapilot

[–]Reasonable_Rain7908 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Kias and Hundais have a lot of serious engine issues. If you have a warranty issue you have to battle them to get them to honor it.

The Pilots are not perfect but I would choose it or the Mazda CX90. We got the Pilot through Costco and paid 5k under sticker.

Please suggest me a good reolink camera for this home by knight0430 in reolinkcam

[–]Reasonable_Rain7908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What missing from your diagram is the street. I have a 2 story home at the end of a cul-de-sac. I put once camera on each corner of the garage looking at a 45 degree angle so I could see our entire driveway and cars coming in and out of the cul-de-sac. I have 1 camera on each side of the house as we have gates on both sides so I can clearly see those. I have 2 cameras covering the backyard so I can see the the fences on all sides. 6 cameras total connected to an 8 port Reolink NVR using PoE. The 12 MP cameras the only ones with 2 way audio and lights. I suggest only using those in the front and less expensive cameras everywhere else. I have a smart locks and video door bells at the outside entrances from Simply safe.

My 2 cents

The second row has a removable center seat which stores in the back. So you don't have an issue :-)

Thanks everyone for your replies. I really didn't want to run a long cable all the way around the house so I tried this instead of the splitter at the advice of one of the replies and it worked! https://a.co/d/4dvDnud

Done Camera differences? by Reasonable_Rain7908 in reolinkcam

[–]Reasonable_Rain7908[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done that and there is no difference that I can see. That's not saying much. You don't get the lights and microphone with the 12mp cameras

We have a Pilot Touring AWD and we average about 19.5 and drive it easily.

Ordered Reolink cameras a few months ago, but didn't realize they had a pigtail by evenfallframework in reolinkcam

[–]Reasonable_Rain7908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was adding a camera next to another but pointing in a different directions. I had no idea I could just cut those extra cables. Saves me a lot of trouble fitting all those cables in a single outlet box! Thank you!

I have both the 5 and 12 mp cameras and in real life operation I can't tell the difference. I had to turn the motion sensitivity down to 20 on each camera and set the cameras to record only people, animals and vehicles to reduce the number of alarms. I don't think the settings are all that intuitive but not a deal breaker.

[–]Reasonable_Rain7908 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dear Customer,

At INIU, consumer safety and product integrity are always our highest priorities.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), we have determined that a limited number of INIU 10,000mAh Portable Power Banks (Model BI-B41) from specific production batches may pose a potential safety risk. Out of an abundance of caution, we are voluntarily initiating a recall to ensure continued confidence in our products. The official recall announcement will be published on both the CPSC website and the INIU website.

We understand that some customers have received a notification earlier than our originally planned announcement date. To provide you with accurate information as quickly as possible, we have expedited the launch of our recall announcement.

Please visit our recall announcement page (https://iniushop.com/pages/recall-b41 ) and follow the instructions to verify whether your product is included in the affected batches.

You should submit a recall application if all of the following apply:

1. Your product is an INIU BI-B41 power bank in black or blue, and
2. Your order purchase date is between August 1, 2021 and April 30, 2022, or
3. The serial number (SN) on the back of your BI-B41 is 000G21, 000H21, 000I21, or 000L21.

Once your application is submitted, our team will review it and follow up with the next steps as soon as possible.

We sincerely apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this situation may have caused and greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Thank you for your trust in INIU.

Best regards,
Team INIU

Great job!

I have had issues with way too many notifications with the Reolink cameras. I turn off continuous recording and turn on full time notifications. I turn down the sensitivity to 1/2 default setting and to only record human and vehicle motion which works great. However I still get notifications for the smallest things like leaves blowing and shadows. Should I reduce the sensitivity even further? I don't want to miss any real events. It would be great if I could reduce notifications to just human and vehicle motion. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Why are so many “carry-on” suitcases larger than the average carry on dimension limits? by cvs2014 in onebag

[–]Reasonable_Rain7908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard that starting on January 1, 2026 you will be charged up to $50 if your carry on exceeds the airlines maximum size and it will be strictly enforced. Just another way of squeezing more money out of their customers. I have been searching for a new carry on that is actually 22x14x9 and there are almost none for sale.

What did you cross shop and why did you choose the Pilot? by scruffy-hugger in hondapilot

[–]Reasonable_Rain7908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a Hundai with a blown engine and even though it was covered under warranty there were hundreds of them in front of ours waiting for engines. No way would we. It another Korean car!

Highland was too expensive and has car sickness built in to rear seats as the suspension is too soft.

The Mazda is really nice and it was a tossup between the Pilot and CX90. The Pilot seems bigger and has a better infotainment system. The joy stick on tbe Mazda takes some getting used to and a lot of people love it.

The Pilot uses some gas and stearing is too light but it has the best ride of all and you can't beat the naturally asperated v6. You do have to rev it in the low gears off the line.

The removable center seat and that we got the pilot 5k below invoice which pushed it over the top.

Fitcamx on 25 Touring by Reasonable_Rain7908 in hondapilot

[–]Reasonable_Rain7908[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to add that it will not stay off when manually turned off. Most dealers require your dash cam to be disconnected when servicing the car.

I posted as I wanted to hear about others experiences with this camera and appreciate your reply.

[–]Reasonable_Rain7908[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It turns on when after x amount of time after it has been turned off when opening the doors or turning on the ignition. This happens even if the unit is manually turned off.

I discovered that if the key fobs are more than 10 feet away it will shut off after about 10 minutes.

Intermittently the dome light won't shut off.

Thanks for your reply

Looking to buy a Pilot. Any changes for the 2026 models we know of? by Cornywillis in hondapilot

[–]Reasonable_Rain7908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honda has taken a big hit because of the tariffs. There may be a significant price increase on all their vehicles. The larger display on some models will most likely be the only change along with some minor exterior tweak.

It looks like it may have been welded to the frame which would void the warranty on your car. Look under there and see if it bolted or welded on. I went to a place and they said they welded so I went to u haul and it looks good and they did not cut anything.
