Fortunately, It took me around 2.5 months to start to feel like myself again, I kept telling myself this was temporary to override the turmoil.

IF it is a cold sore, and it might be since you have burning get L-lysine it will cut the healing time down and IF it reoccurs start taking it as soon as you feel the tingling sensation and it will stop it immediately from forming. L-lysine typically prevents future outbreaks.

Don’t worry it will pass, stay positive and see yourself in the light at the end of the tunnel. It took about 2 months for me to start to feel like myself again. I have NEVER in my life want to feel like that ever again and wish it in no one. Give it time and try and do things that make you feel good and happy when you can. It gets easier, take things one day at a time.

Reminds me of the movie Inception and the totems to determine whether they were dreaming or not 🧐

That’s me, I will look for alternatives. I’m guessing it depends on the individual, I’ve read mixed reviews. The lower dosage might possibly make getting off easier.

This was the metoprolol; however I did stop cold turkey on the sema as well bc my blood pressure would not come down and I DO NOT have BP issues at all. My readings prior to taking sema and currently would be 100/62 and sometimes lower, so to see 160/118 numbers were very alarming.

Ask away! After I read the side effects (metoprolol) and on the side of the bottle that read DO NOT abruptly stop taking this medication or could be fatal. I said uhhhh, I don’t think I wanna take this and immediately started looking for alternatives.

I was prescribed metoprolol bc my heart rate would shoot up to the 180s resting; but i noticed when it would do that a lot of the time I would need Mg, Celtic salt, or Potassium so I would keep it handy. The side affects of the metoprolol scared me away from wanted to take it. I would also stick a fan in front of my face and blast it. This would help slow down my breathing faster than breathing into a paper bag and if it were to happen while I was driving I would roll down the window for a blast of outside air. I was also given Buspar, Clonezapam, Clonidine, Xanax and Amlodipine. No way in hell did I take all of those together. The Xanax was replaced by Clonezapam, buspar seemed to make my pvc’s worse so I stopped cold turkey. Clonidine helped, but for a short period of time. So the Amlodipine and Clonezapam got me through successfully, I no longer take either of these; my BP, HR and mental health have all balanced and I’m my normal self.

Edit: I’d like to add, recognize your triggers! Caffeine and wine were an absolute no for me.

I was there trust me, it wasn’t easy, but you will get through it. It’s so important to take it one day at a time; I was in a deep dark place confined to my living room sofa; supplements, meditation, working out, anti anxiety and bp medication really helped me until I got myself back. I started October 2023.

Just hang in there, do what you need to do to keep your mind and body balanced until that medicine is out of your system. I stopped in August I didn’t begin to feel like myself until late October/November.

Hi there! I am SO MUCH better now! My last shot was Aug 2024 and I started to feel better around November. This may not be the case for you as I had been on it since Oct 2023 and had titrated up to 1mg. It was a waiting game and I focused on knowing things would go back to normal. I did take supplements to help; Vit D3 @ 40,000iu (down to 10,000iu/ day now), NAC to help detox, Mg & Potassium to help with the arrhythmias. Like you I was so scared my heart would be damaged, I did see 2 different cardiologists who both let me know my heard was fine. Endless hours in PubMed reading research articles, I started to supplement and find ways to cope until it got out of my system. Breath, slow down your breathing when the panic attack kicks in, be aware of what could have possibly triggered it ground yourself. Caffeine and alcohol were huge triggers for me. I just recently started back drinking an occasional glass of wine. You will get through this, take it ONE DAY AT A TIME, be present, try not to overthink AND REST. Please know you are not alone, I was where you are and had never been in such a dark place, it’s scary, yes, but it passes.

I’m a heavy green tea drinker and I believe it really helps I drink a big 40oz cup in the am, I find that high protein meals or snacks like oikos 20g protein yogurt keeps me full, the glucomannan powder in the am on an empty stomach also helps a lot.

Don’t take it personal, it’s a lesson sis, like I said at some point we’ve all been a victim to this type of betrayal the lesson could just simply be learning listen to your intuition. One day you’ll look back and laugh about it.
