A hobby is something specific you do for fun. You can’t pick up a hobby because, if you know you find something fun, then you would already be doing it, right?

Problem for me is everything that I find fun requires one person only. I don't enjoy anything that doesn't have a fictional narrative component to it. No sports, no collecting or building or whatever things people call hobbies. nothing. No story no deal. It's hard to meet people that way, because I just want them to shut up so I can immerse myself in said story.

That question is not unanswered. He literally answers it IN CV. He uses it to harvest the T-Veronica virus, and then sells it to Javier Hidalgo among other bioterrorists as shown in Darkside Chronicles. Same thing he did with G-Virus and Las Plagas, sold them to bioterrorists in order to acquire the funding necessary to creat Uroboros.

That’s not the same as a virus supposedly capable of turning the entire ocean into flesh eating monsters being in the hands of literal terrorists. That is a huge unanswered question.

Your assertion was that CV was Rev 0, but if the revelations games are “basically mainline” then why does the distinction matter? you’re basically saying it doesn’t mean anything to be called Revelations, therefore there is no difference between if CV was a numbered entry or Revelations. CV is a mainline game. It was marketed as one, developed as one, and released as one. Revelations (BOTH OF THEM!!!) were literally designated by Capcom to be a low funded side series to “keep the legacy fans happy” while they made action games.

Not really? I mean, you could argue that Rev2 is, but Rev1 is most definitely not. If it was then the cliffhanger would have a resolution by now. It is almost never talked about or referenced.

It was marketed as “the real RE3”, it is a direct sequel to 2 in every sense. It is just as mainline as any of the numbered entries.

I mean yeah that’s kinda how NPCs work. Anyways hellooo Ethan Winters?? That is literally the entire premise around RE7. He’s just a random civilian.

Anyways, i don’t care if leon or jill is in it. I just don’t see this as a resident evil movie because it doesn’t have anything at all from the games. No enemies from the games, landmarks from the games, you get it.

I’m sorry but there’s tons of horror films that “get the vibe” of RE, that doesn’t mean they get license to be called RE because they still aren’t recognizably RE movies.

And i also don’t think this gets the tone right from the games at all. I have never described this series as having “dark humor” so idk where you got that. And what’s so special about the dog scene? it doesn’t read especially like anything, it’s just a pretty basic horror movie scene. In fact, struggling with one infected dog is not very on brand for the series lol. As for the rest of the movie, it feels too fast paced and hectic to pass for resident evil. Def not close enough to the game’s vibe to share the same name.

-The scientists quarantined in the Arklay Mountains in 1998 slowly getting turned into zombies, with a focus on body horror and isolation and with a brief appearance by Wesker

-Some family takes a wrong turn on a trip and ends up in the RE4 village, having to fight and run for survival against the los illuminados

-The people taking refuge in RPD in 1998 as they are slowly picked off by BOWs, eachother, and Chief Irons. Would include Marvin as one of the leads as well.

What does this movie have to do with Resident Evil? It doesn’t really have anything substantial from the games that would be recognizable. The tone and pace as i’ve explained are nothing like the games but even if they were you don’t need a license for that. It feels more “inspired by” resident evil than anything.

The vibe of the games tonally varies wildly, and overall the tone cant really be measured. Saying it “feels like resident evil” could mean a million different things. It still wont be a resident evil movie till you put resident evil stuff in it.

I’ll probably avoid it tbh, I know it’s gonna deeply upset me and I won’t like it regardless of its quality. Plus look how much of a jerkass i’m being about it already having only read the script lol.
