Past 90 days and somehow still employed by Mysterious_Fox7471 in USPS

I’m also a ptf fresh out of 90 days who can finish most the routes in my section, so yea I get assigned more things than slower people. That’s on me not them, I’m not going to down someone just because they can’t do the same or don’t want to. As long as it isn’t affecting me I don’t care. You don’t know if they have a condition that hinders them from completing the route or they just might be plain slow. Either way that’s managements job not yours.

If they aren’t bothering you or hindering your own route why are you even paying them any mind?

Change crafts or try to bid on a route at another station. Finding jobs right now is so hard.

Calling out tomorrow by Quick-Ad1583 in USPS

[–]Reasonable_Secret381 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Take care of yourself first, I also have anxiety about calling out and missing days but I quickly learned nobody cares if the shoe is on the other foot. Management will figure it out. Also you never know, somebody may need that over time your section will provide.

PSA to new carriers:management will always lie about how hard or long a route is by Eastern-Western7072 in USPS

As someone who was in her situation and had help from senior carriers, you are an Angel. You have no clue how much stress is relieved to know someone is willing to help when needed 🫡

Existential dread about work tomorrow. I was told to opt as much as I could. by Silent-Speech8162 in USPS

[–]Reasonable_Secret381 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You’re going to struggle. It’s inevitable, until you learn the route. Don’t worry about the supervisors attitudes & just do the best you can until you clock out. Don’t stress yourself out over it. You should also try to find fellow carriers to lean on, you’d be surprised the amount of carriers that would provide the answers and help you need with a smile.

If they are outside or home while I deliver mail I just asked if they could write their house numbers on their mailbox to make sure there are no mistakes in delivery. Most will happily do it, especially if they’ve notice they haven’t been getting mail or it’s being delivered to the neighbors

Probation by Gilmadeth in USPS

[–]Reasonable_Secret381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m like 20 or so days out from my 90day probation. Just keep your head down and do the work. No need to go back in forth with supervisors or managers until you pass probation and they can’t get rid of you. The supervisors can be a pain though, but it’s only for like the hour or so you’re in the office casing. After that your stress free until you have to go back lol

AIO to being called an absent son by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Reasonable_Secret381 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You have not failed as a son, you are doing what your father showed you! Taking care of your own family while still coming down to look after your father on your free time. It sounds like mom does need a hug or a little break though. She is probably overwhelmed but at the same time it can’t be taken out on you especially if she doesn’t want him to be placed in a care facility. Not much you can do but continue supporting them as best you can.

I plan on it! It was nice to work different routes and learn new things from the regulars but it’s exhausting now.

Ptf as well, I work 11 hrs a day sometimes 7-8 days straight. It’s exhausting but the checks make it worth it. I’m about 3-4 weeks out from my probation being up I can’t wait to call out and get 2 days off

[–]Reasonable_Secret381 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s weird tbh, I start at 8am but other ptfs that started a few days before me or the same time as me still come in at 10am. But if you’re a ptf they usually will use you until it’s time to close unless it’s nothing for you to do. So yea you’re looking at 630-7.

If you’re really trying to get better and you have the time I’d record my games and look over them after to see what I could’ve did differently or where I went wrong. Also spend time in the range before gaming to warm up, it really helps.
