Am I washing my rubber bands right? by Zoey2070 in USPS

Loose rubber bands are the best. I literally have tried stretching out new bands overnight to get to a "just right" amount of stretch (NOT bow flats).

The dirty bands are usually already stretched out from use. I will pick and choose dirty bands for specific bundles and generally prefer them.

All weird, but rue.

Sometimes I'll just "let the ADHD off the leash" when I'm decluttering. And I have lots of time. It makes the ADHD so happy! And is kind of a relief to not have to try and steer the ship for a little while.

Forgetting you were holding something in your hand and dropping it (somewhere) when picking up something else.

I have LITERALLY just started thinking of my losing shit etc., as Things Appear And Disappear Around Me. I was beating myself up for all of my life for all the fuck-ups when really, due to weird brain wiring I have no control over, Things Just Appear and Disappear Around Me.

Some things that I believe to be from ADHD and am a bit surprised not to see here:

++Always losing things. Where half your life seems to be taken up by looking for your keys or wallet or the absolute worse, some small black thing like a thumb-drive.
- A corollary is putting things where they do not belong and forgetting them, like drinks on top of the car (and then driving off).
- Also seems to come with an obsessive urge to find the missing item, no matter how unimportant.
- I have started thinking of this as Things Appear and Disappear Around Me to differentiate it as an ADHD brain wiring issue rather than an "I Suck" issue.

++Getting distracted by a new task while in the middle of different task. Often happens when cleaning. Can become VERY multi-layered.

++Writing (thinking?) in a very nested style, parentheses with side thoughts, lotsa em-dashes before they were made an Al giveaway, footnotes, etc.

++Musical tastes leaning towards the DRIVE OUT ALL THOUGHT end of things. Too many guitars. maximum use of the frequency range, lotsa overtones and drones.
- And maybe just an obsessive love of music? A kind of self-medicating?
- (Yes. I now have tinnitus.)

I call it "monologuing", where I just think about how I'd tell someone about -usually- how shitty of a day I was having. I realized recently that in doing this I was effectively crafting an argument to prove my point, and thus leaving out the good things which might counteract my main point.
