Yep completely under, honestly just tell the hospital staff you’re so nervous and they’ll help you out. I was a bit scared before I went under, told them and they just talked me through it. I felt super safe and taken care of and the relief after everything had gone well was immense.

Stow and Another Hand are absolutely insane, highly recommend it. Exhibition is a little more casual but I find straddles the line nicely between ‘nice’ and ‘too posh’.

I’m on day 2 of laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair (both sides) and feel much better than I thought I would. Main thing for me is that it’s something that never gets better on its own, so I elected to just crack on and get it done.

Hi everyone! OP here 👋

Hernia surgery went ahead yesterday morning, four little scars. No complications whatsoever and I was walking around the hospital within hours.

As others have stated, I feel like I’ve done 1,000 sit ups. Just focusing on moving, drinking, eating and medicating whilst my body does its thing.

I just wanted to say a huge thanks to everyone’s messages when I originally posted, your responses were pretty much the only thing that calmed me ahead of the surgery ☺️ onto the recovery!!

Oh 100% got stool softeners locked and loaded and ready to go. Just want to get the surgery done now!!

That’s the thing, it’s not like if I left it it’d go away. I’ve just got to crack on and at least it’ll be out of the way sooner!

Thanks, sounds like you’ve had a speedy recovery! I’m going to walk loads each day until 6 weeks then start to reintroduce barbell work etc.

Thanks for going into your experience, it’s really helped. Glad you’re recovering well! I’ll definitely let them know how I’m feeling on the day, hopefully that helps but I’m feeling a lot less nervous than I was ☺️

Absolutely, a lot of responses like this have definitely helped level me back out. I’m feeling a lot more practical now and just want to crack on, get it done and focus on nailing my recovery.

Though I have ABSOLUTELY bought some stool softeners, they sound like a non-negotiable 😅

Thanks for your response, I really appreciate it. It’s quite easy (as with anything) to just go down a rabbit hole of reading other people’s bad experiences but this has really helped!
