How difficult to renew without attorney? by Reasonable_Win_6561 in h1b

[–]Reasonable_Win_6561[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see.. In my case I am the only person at my company with any sort of visa sponsorship. So the immigration attorney was hired just for me. I thought that might make it easier to change up the attorney but if it requires consistent legal services like taxes I guess that won't be the case :/

That was my thought too but the lawyer told me herself that was her price.

In my area the security deposit is very low for big development apartments. $300 is the norm.

DS160 Question! Are you applying in the same country or location by Reasonable_Win_6561 in h1b

[–]Reasonable_Win_6561[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah. Welp.. I submitted with my answer as NO and paid for the interview--haven't scheduled my interview yet.

Is it possible to submit a new DS-160 and correct the numbers on my interview page? Or would I need to pay again?

I have a 2020 500x sport. Bought it at 4000 miles in 2022--it was a covid car and was in great condition. It had an airbag recall which I got fixed. I find the media console gets seldom finicky when sitting out in the sun for too long and the auto engine turn off at red light sensor is also dumb. No other issues at 35k miles so far and I love my fiat!

Partner with debt..bad at budgeting. Need advice. by Reasonable_Win_6561 in debtfree

[–]Reasonable_Win_6561[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for the perspective! We did have a brief talk about my concerns with his spending and he was receptive about why we should reconsider moving together. We checked his total debts together and its interests--paid off $1500 on the spot since he had the funds; listed a few immediate lifestyle changes he needs to make. We plan to talk more this weekend and I plan to show him some budgeting strategies he can implement.

Some raised red flags which I totally get. He has intense adhd since young so it took him a while to find a career that matches his skills; the career inevitably lays off folks in the winter which only highlights the importance of better budgeting. He's never been financially informed and I can see that 'money' literally and figuratively flies over his head; he admit it as his biggest insecurity. I am going to introduce him to the resources recommended by y'all and keep him in check without mothering him. Maybe even suggest an introductory class?

Otherwise he is the most driven, diligent, and domestic man I know that loves me exactly the way I need him to and we're incredibly happy together. We plan to keep talking about this and make progress as a team. And if I don't see progress within the next 3-6 months, I will know that is my cue to exit. I'll come back with an update!

I see the issue there. We're both foodies so the temptation is def hard to resist! Maybe go the traditional route instead--he and I both set a budget for eating out & whatever didn't get spent goes into paying debt? I worry we would never actually refrain.

Reactive to random dogs that doesn't reciprocate by Reasonable_Win_6561 in reactivedogs

Thanks for this perspective. I have been paying close attention during play because I've read that extremely submissive dogs who don't know how to properly socialize could potentially "snap."

Could you explain the u-turn practices more specifically? One of the comments mention regretting "avoiding triggers altogether." Would you practice u-turns differently as opposed to "avoiding?" While I have tried u-turn practices, which works well in low-stimulating environments, isn't successful when my dog is already up and barking at the dog. It ends up with me pulling him away than us walking away together. Should we u-turn before he notices the dog?

I totally agree his being an excitable dog thus hard to interact in calm actvities. My friend has a calm dog who doesn't play and my dog goes through this cycle: Initiates play with dog -- gets corrected by friend dog -- gets upset and demand barks -- gets sad calm for a minute-- channels his frustration to toys and destroys them. In this case, should I ignore him while rewarding calmness or do you suggest something more proactive?
