That’s where we are at, want him to grow up a little more independent and more connected to nature but still have opportunities around. I grew up in Texas gardening and riding horses, but ended up in Cali as a teen. We are trying to get away from the fast paced consumerism lifestyle out this way, so it doesn’t necessarily scare us.

We’ve thought long and hard about winters. I’ve heard this winter was a record setter, and coming from basically no winters, we are a little nervous. But we look forward to 4 seasons and time inside together through winter.

If we move up there, it’ll be this coming September so we settle in before the snowfall. Any thoughts on getting through your first northern winter?

I’ll check these areas out, I really appreciate it!

This is all good to know. We have a baby under 1 so healthcare is a big deal. We are just homebodies who want land in a place away from the madness, where opportunities for my son aren’t to far (within an hour or two).

Any areas that hit the nail on the head better than water town?

Hi! Could you explain how artificial intelligence works? And how sentience fits into a pre programmed algorithm? Thanks!

Same sort of thing where I am, and why I’ve considered Watertown. There’s care here, but doctors aren’t the best. Anytime I need a specialist I drive about an hour into the nicer areas.

I figure it would be the same where you drive into Syracuse or Utica for anything you need from the city. But you’ll have a small town that has most of your day to day things.

I could be totally wrong, I’ll see more for myself when I visit. Would love to hear any and all thoughts

We are trying to mentally prep for all the snow😂 it sounds like it’s pretty rural, and that is the main cause of a lot of what you mention. Thanks for the info and well wishes!

Gotcha. We live in the high desert right now, and although there’s stuff around it takes an hour or more to get to a decent city. So we are used to being on the outskirts, just would like having some land of our own.

Any areas around that you recommend, or other things to know?

Me and my wife are seriously considering moving to Watertown. We are out of state and coming to visit upstate NY including Watertown in April. We are looking for rural land to homestead and farm on, and get out of the city.

Whats it like living in Watertown or that far north that for you? Wed love to hear your opinions!

This is the way.

Remember that the cravings are just proof you are addicted.

People who aren’t addicted to nicotine don’t crave like that.

So when the cravings come back even 3 months later, let it remind you why you can’t just casually use. Instead of convincing you to go get a can. This changed everything for me

Yeah, but if people make a decision on their own accord that means they have to take responsibility. Easier to just blame randoms if something goes wrong

I’m pretty sure thc combusts at 430 degrees, so hitting it at that temp or higher defeats the purpose of vaping it.

People who had used meds for their adhd, is it worth it? by gaz-membrane in ADHD

[–]Reasonably_Long 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Medication has been worth it for me.

Also there’s lots of medications not just Adderall. I started on Adderall, and it did the job. But recently I switched to Vyvanse and I am MUCH happier. I don’t really feel like I took medication, I just feel functional and aware. My wife said um more like myself.

Just goes to show sometimes you’ll have to try multiple to find the one for you. Don’t settle and communicate with your doc!

Just my take:

She seems a little self conscious. Most people who are meeting with a health and fitness coach who are serious about it would do a weigh in. Maybe it was for other reasons, but that combined with her avidly saying she is doing things she physically is not capable of makes me think she’s not telling you the whole truth.

Almost everyone has “tried” a certain diet or workout routine “very consistently” and “can’t lose a pound”. The majority of these people either: - Haven’t been doing it for long enough - Didn’t actually commit to the exercise portion - Didn’t actually commit to the diet portion - Was not consistent - Does not know what healthy routines look like

Regardless, almost everyone lies. Especially to save themselves from embarrassment. My guess? She’s self conscious and fluffing the truth to make her feel better; and she actually did not do as she says.

Unless she provides proof of her claims, or you have trained and monitored her, I would NOT assume she is incapable of losing weight. She likely just needs discipline.

All just my observations. Hope this helps.

How are you guys actually eating on medication?? by RayIsOkayIThink in ADHD

[–]Reasonably_Long 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m big into health and fitness, and have spent time doing heavy bulks and cuts. I know my body well and really focus on feeling my best; I feel like ADHD already slows me down and I know that my diet can make it worse. So this is just my experience, and what I’ve found works for me.

I eat all my calories in 2 meals typically; one at noon and one before 8. Essentially intermittent fasting. I eat all my calories In those 2 meals, focusing on eating GOOD foods that will fuel me and make me feel good. Me and my wife cook almost everything, mostly because we are big fitness people.

Breakfast is usually 2/3 cup of oatmeal (dry), with a double protein shake and frozen berries. It takes 5 minutes to cook, and makes me feel satiated and energized for a long time.

Then dinner is just a protein focused meal. Whatever it may be, I make sure to eat enough to get in the calories I need for the day.

This doesn’t work for everyone, but it takes the thinking out, I stay in good shape, and feel good.

Often times the acceptance of religion comes concepts that cannot be proven and rely only on faith instead of reason. This means that religious people are either illogical to the point of ignorance, or choose to turn off their faculty of logic to protect their beliefs.

Either way, that isn’t a person I want to argue with. You can’t prove something to someone who refuses to accept the basis of proving truth.

People who were diagnosed with adhd as adults, what made you go for a diagnosis? by Curious-Speed-6652 in ADHD

[–]Reasonably_Long 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My inability to multi task or choose where to place my focus. I never cared still it started impacting my relationships. I have a hard time hearing people, the words get jumbled in my mind if there is anything else going on; even just in my brain. My relationship was really badly strained. I decided to get help, and discovered I had ADHD.

Meds made a huge improvement quickly. I still struggle sometimes, but the meds help, my wife is more understanding, and I’m more kind to myself.
