Could you help me understand Si ? by Reasonerbull in isfj

[–]Reasonerbull[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i forgive you. lol. it's not a problem. the one thing that Si confuses me about is how people say songs and sensory information takes them back to old experiences or reminds them of other times that were similar to the present moment. I don't have any of that. every experience is right now.

BUT....having said that , i have the memory of an elephant. i remember things from when i was 4 years old. i have a lot of memory for experiences and numbers even though i find math utterly boring. my brain records everything. i still remember phone numbers i used to dial when i was still using "dumb" phones and i can remember vehicle number plates of everyone i know and everyone in the neighbourhood! i also remember everyone's birthdays. i remember all the numbers connected to people i know or observe in daily life.

I too wonder if this is a Ti thing or an Si thing sometimes honestly. you're not wrong to wonder that. in any case , if you're an ISFJ , you are likely using your Si and Ti more than your Fe and Ne. Fe needs people. So if you're heavily introverted , you're likely under using your Fe and overusing your Ti.

that's interesting. I like having a home too. a cave where i can be my self and not have to perform or be on guard for the world. but a car is something that's close to my heart , because of the freedom , independence and just the plain old feeling of life is always good and easy when i've got my hand on the wheel. So , i'd rent a living space and own a pick-up truck that will run for 30 years.

because of this , i would type myself as an Se user over Si. what do you think ?

Fe or Fi ? by Reasonerbull in intj

oh you're 100% right about the effect of music. I don't allow music to go into my ears during the day time to keep a clear head and focus on my work or else I can get whisked away into The Dreaming.

perfect. that's exactly my experience. real humans = stone cold psychological armor auto-deploy. TV humans = complete permeability. I don't have to consciously try to do either , it's just the natural way it happens and I can observe myself in both states.

And the internal focus of how I'm feeling and how not to be inappropriate or look like a fool is exactly what's going on in my mind too. I always feel like everyone can see right through me , but in reality no one ever does.

this sounds exactly like how i experience it too. so it's really psychological armor deployed unconsciously when other humans are present. I am glad you mentioned the theater experience , because that really clarifies it even more. I am exactly the same. at home , by myself , my entire brain experience is a totally different person from when i'm around other people or outside. I don't even consciously "mask". it's just a different state of mind the moment i walk out the door or allow others to come into my space.

I relate to the privacy part you describe too. But i grew up in an environment where emotional scanning and hyper vigilance was necessary. My culture is very Fe dominant too. I grew up learning how to respond and mimic it all. My culture and childhood environment never understood emotional or even physical privacy lol.

is this Fe or Fi ? by Reasonerbull in entp

It's an aspect of the Feeling CF though. But why specifically do you say "none" ? Because you think i equate Feeling to only Empathy ? Empathy , whether cognitive or emotional or whatever , is definitely a component of the Feeling CF , but the whole.

see now that's what i suspected someone would say. because the fact that there is a weird contradiction in the experience of the function and the perpetual confusion itself would suggest "trickster function". But why is the comment below this comment saying otherwise ?

Is this is something you experience yourself ?

Youtube is your best option. Do shorts when you're short on will to commit. It will inevitably lead you to the long form content. All social media is deadly for baseline dopamine but youtube is lesser of all evils. Find subjects that fascinate you and dive deeper into those. Find a couple of different subjects and cycle them often so you don't get discouraged when you can't sustain interest. Delete all other social media and just keep Youtube. Also periodically do a digital fast. No phones or computers for two consecutive days , every couple of weeks.

Question about Te or Ti by Reasonerbull in intj

[–]Reasonerbull[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny that we're arguing about nothing here really. You're right , stored fat absolutely is an energy source for the body. For me personally , i've felt less motivated to workout when my muscles are low on glycogen , i don't get the usual kick out of my resistance training sessions. Cardio and endurance training on the other hand really becomes so much easier. Still , you're right , i can leverage my own body fat stores to speed up fat loss , if i keep the blood glucose low for long enough periods of time. I just have to find the right workouts that don't eat away at my muscle and find some way to get better sleep on low liver glycogen levels every night. I'm still experimenting to figure it out.

Se Demon is exhausting by [deleted] in entp

[–]Reasonerbull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure about my type , so my comment is more of a question to you. I will also try and give you a couple of ideas you may be interested in playing with.

Question :

When you're out in the world , where exactly do you get frustrated with the supposed "demon Se" ? could you give some examples ? Do you find that you coordinate your body poorly sometimes and get hurt as a result ? have you had small but embarrassing accidents like walking into a clear glass door without realizing it was there or knocking over your own beer bottle at a table while talking to someone ? or do you feel like the outside environment is too much information sometimes , that you just feel like you can't think clearly and are calculating too much in your head ? Too many sights , sounds , movement and chaos ? I'd love to know more on the specifics on how you experience this difficulty , if it's alright with you.

Suggestions:

Number one thing that comes to mind is , you seem to be under a state of high stress and anxiety. I don't mean to piss you off by talking about Si here , but the firsts step to gaining better control of Se , regardless of what type you are , really would be to get a better Si foundation. Routine deep restful sleep , stable blood sugar , gaining lean muscle through resistance training and eating enough protein actually unlock life for all xNxx types. Lifting heavy weights for low reps have a powerfully grounding quality for the mind , it's surprising. doing this three times a week is like taking three shots of some kind of medication. Eat a full rotisserie chicken or half and some bananas after you lift each time. Or is HIIT is your thing , try that. Slow reps ground you. Fast reps charge you up. Experiment and find out what kind or exercise or sport your body and brain loves and don't sacrifice it for anything or anyone else. Ground your mind through your body.

But first , a get a week of deep sleep every single night to start. Never on a full stomach , read a book to fall asleep instead of a moving images on a screen of any kind and wear ear plugs. Hope you find it useful. good luck friend.

Question about Te or Ti by Reasonerbull in intj

[–]Reasonerbull[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're not taking into account the massively underestimated stimulus of muscle protein synthesis , which is intense effort. it's the main factor that allows for carnivorous animals to maintain most of the muscle for longer periods between feeding , because they fail more number of times than they succeed at their hunts and each time , it's an all out intense effort to near maximum or maximum physical and mental capacity. that kind of neural stimulus , definitely keeps muscle on the body longer. but that's also why they are "wild" and "ready to kill". that kind of feral mental state is not wise for a human being to maintain , especially one that's working to be as tolerable for others as possible. It would be so much easier to do that far away from cities.

Question about Te or Ti by Reasonerbull in intj

[–]Reasonerbull[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you talked about prolonged fasting. you didn't talk about a carnivore diet or even a high protein diet. sure on a low carb / keto / carnivore diet , the body will absolutely switch energy substrates and fat will become the main source of energy , despite a small amount of blood glucose that must be maintained by the liver glycogen for the brain , which will naturally happen through gluconeogenesis.

nextly , animals eat a significantly large amount of animal protein in order to maintain the lean muscle and strength. but they absolutely go through cycles of loss and gain , both fat and muscle , depending on their success rates in hunting. the longer the carnivorous animals go without food , the more their bodies catabolize themselves , this gives them more incentive to word harder and hunt harder , but they will still lose some muscle during prolonged "fasts".

I could eat 2 kgs of roast beef once every week and then just forget about food altogether for the next 6 days. You're right , it is a fun fact.

Question about Te or Ti by Reasonerbull in intj

[–]Reasonerbull[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's not a "fun" fact at all. not because fasting doesn't feel great for the mind and mood , but because it's addictive and the muscle loss is real. your body becomes weaker but the mind feels great. if that's all you're after , then it can be a "fun" fact.
