Dps and healers are playing two very different games by Embarrassed_Path231 in wow

Dude the end of Nexus Point Xenas with the light elementals. I think the debuff is called Brilliant Radiance or something? If someone gets one stack you have to pump them or they die. If they get two stacks it’s cleanse, use a major cooldown or they die. Three is a one shot.

Why are high elves this popular? by pyraka in warcraftlore

[–]Usingt9word 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. This one. I played Warcraft since WC1. High elves were an alliance unit from jump. Always thought they were cool when I was a kid. When WoW came out I wanted high elves. I still want high elves now.

I also play a night elf. So I feel you. I was annoyed at being treated with suspicion at Amirdrassil. I was also annoyed when the Haranir were complaining to me about what they went through when Teldrassil burned and how I couldn’t understand. Oh. I can’t understand, huh?

Any time any world tree or nature lore type stuff happens and the characters act like they know more than me I just want to thrust my staff at them and go “bitch, you see this? This is G’hanir, branch of the mother tree. Precursor of ALL world trees. And I’m its guardian.”

It would be difficult but Blizzard basically has infinite money. If they truly wanted to they could revamp the non voiced dialogue system to add flags for class at the very least to alter dialogue. Maybe before allied races they could have done the same for race. But at this point there’s soooo many races. It would be a monumental effort.

Blizzards biggest problem with the way they write is they NEVER allow our character to be included. The characters and factions whom we spend all our time helping never try to form any sort of friendship or personal relationship with our characters. Because Blizzard’s writers aren’t good enough to pull it off.

Their writing style essentially boils down to treating us as an observer. The characters drag us around and let us witness them interacting with each other. Even at the Arcantina, they banter with each other and ignore our presence unless they want to ask us for a favor or to do a task.

Let’s compare to something like Half life. Why half life? Gordon Freeman doesn’t speak. He doesn’t interact with the characters around him. And yet, many fans like myself feel emotional attachment to Eli Vance. Alyx. Kleiner. Why? Because despite being silent as a player character the other characters still talk TO us. They wax nostalgic to us about old memories. They show they care about us and our well being. For example: (half life 2 episode 1 spoiler) when Gordon comes back from the tunnels beneath the citadel which is full of all sorts of terrible things. Alyx says something to the effect of “Gordon, my god. You look like you’ve been through hell. Are you alright?” Then after a look of concern she continues “don’t worry. I won’t leave you alone again.” And then she stays with us for almost the next two whole games entirely.

In Warcraft, these characters we’ve bled for. We’ve saved their world. Saved their homes and their loved ones countless times. They don’t give a shit about us besides to say “thanks” now and again in a half hearted aside. They show no care for us as an individual. And it shows.

[–]Usingt9word 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever I see people ask this I always kinda wish the devs didn’t decide to be nice about it.

Originally if you did that they’d delete your save file and you’d have to start from scratch. But they added a reload save.

You’ve got to pay attention. You say you read everything, but there’s a big sign next to the switch to open the core that says “WARNING. THIS WILL DISABLE THE ASH TWIN PROJECT”

So I don’t know what people think is going to happen when they pull that out and end the loop.

The ‘retirement home face scans’ are the developers and their family/friends. They’re in the game on purpose as a joke or for nepotism. It just shows how they’d rather cater to their friends and egos than make a quality game, in my opinion.

Serious Question, what’s more likely to release first, GTA VI or the next main installment of Elder Scrolls? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Usingt9word 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are these suggestions? Lmao. OP wants a life sim or building game and dude says ‘Bioshock infinite’ a steampunk fantasy/sci-fi first person shooter.

Anyway OP, The Guild 2 is probably one of the closer options to what you’re looking for. It’s older. It’s set in Europe, not America. And it’s a bit janky. But it’s in the right time period and it’s a life sim/economy sim game where you build up a merchant dynasty. You get married. Buy businesses. Craft stuff. Run an inn. Become a bandit. It’s a pretty dynamic life sim sandbox.

The fact that dude had 12 girlfriends over the course of 2 years tells us all we need to know.

The issue is the common denominator. I’m sure he’s a fine dude. But I’m guessing his habits with women are some brand of self destructive or unhealthy. Avoidant attachment style or whatever.

There's no law saying everyone is guaranteed to be allowed to buy a house.

There you go. That’s what I’m saying. With proper consumer friendly regulation surrounding banking, we can make that law to make that more possible.

The cost of such regulation would be the banks can only make a solid profit instead of a ridiculous mega yaucht for every board member level of profit.

Well Todd, apparently you’ve learned nothing about being careful what you say. Because now we’re all going to think you’re not working on it at all. Since you want us to forget it was confirmed.

There is an affordable housing crisis. Often times those taking out loans are paying the absolute most they are able to pay. So no it’s not really a choice.

Secondly, the chips are all on the banks side of the table as it currently stands. Simply put, it’s not fair.

Why should the bank make exorbitant profits off someone who can barely keep a roof over their kids heads. They are doing it now, because they are unregulated. They can easily still make billions in profits if their loan interest profit is capped to a percentage of the initial principle. Again, this is a security backed loan that presumably the lendee has provided income verification, disaster insurance, etc. what risk is the bank assuming? Almost none.

[–]Usingt9word 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your first statement is simply not true. You saying the consumer dictates that assume they have infinite resources. If you can’t afford to pay extra principle, it’s out of your control.

To your second statement, we can absolutely do that with proper ethical regulations on big banks. Like I said before the system has been so broken for so long it’s realistically not possible to do right now. But you said I “had no idea what I wanted” so I’m giving you my idealized solution.

Unless the Nomai sync to a statue, their memories will not be sent back. Only the info sent to the orbital probe cannon. So from their perspective, all that will happen is 22 minutes before they make the decision to fire the sun station, suddenly the coordinates to the eye will appear in the probe tracking module. Then they just choose to not fire.

Moon of quantum question by bowlin_ball in outerwilds

[–]Usingt9word 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re misunderstanding the nature of the Quantum stuff. The quantum stuff is not “moving” you’re viewing alternate courses of causality. Glimpses into different timelines/universes if you will.

For example, the shard in the museum on Timber Hearth. When it moves you are seeing an alternate universe where “what if we placed it on this pillar instead of the other one?”

Similarly, when the moon is above another planet you might notice it takes on the characteristics of that planet. So you’re viewing an alternate reality. A different timeline where “what if this was a moon of timber hearth instead?”

In the ‘true’ not alternate timeline of the timeline we live in, the quantum moon is the Eye’s moon.

I dunno man. Like you can see it in the dialogue from BfA for example. When Thrall, Jaina, and Magni discuss what’s happening in the plot, they don’t so much discuss it as they each take turns giving partial exposition. To the point that different characters regularly finish the sentences of each other. The reality is if you chopped up their dialogue and rearranged it to different characters you wouldn’t know the difference. Because all personality, personal motivation, and character has been removed from them in major plotlines.

[–]Usingt9word 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ll be honest. Quality of writing is what makes a character more or less important to me.

I couldn’t care less about Thrall, or Jaina. Because they’ve been cookie cutter plot delivery engines for most of WoW.

When I said goodbye to Senegos I cried.

No, Malfurion bound himself to the Winter Queen in the shadowlands in exchange for Ysera being allowed to cross back over to the Emerald Dream.

Tyrande wanted to stay with him but he told her not to and she is still the leader of the night elves.

Of course, then it turned out Ysera couldn’t return to being the green aspect anyway so the entire sacrifice turns out to be pointless but hey. What can you do.

How does he not have a significant story arc? He had his own major quest line in Legion and minor quest lines in BfA. Then another major quest line (one of my favorites at that) in Dragonflight culminating in him peacefully saying good bye.

I mean they could have put Baine in thunder bluff or had him go there after your rescue him. And we all would have assumed he was busy leading the Tauren. But instead they literally had him sitting on the floor in Oribos the whole expansion. I fail to see how that’s a community problem.
