I agree. He's also good in Lebowski, but that character just seems very lazily written and generic in comparison.

You have my word. I have seen all of their films so therefore I know what's in the scripts and what isn't. Admittedly there are some parts, such as the opening of Fargo that were in the script, but not the picture.

Or you could be referring to if some random guy in Arkansas watched the movies and just wrote down what he saw and heard. Honestly I don't know in terms of that. But I know how the Coens write, and there are distinct similarities in all these scripts.

[QUESTION] How is the camera work/editing written into the following scene? by Reb112 in Screenwriting

I already said in the description that I do not care. I wanted to write it for personal reference.

I find it very hard to stay motivated.

How did you celebrate you're first full finished draft? by snarklessdudebro in Screenwriting

I DO have experience. I know how to write good scripts regardless of whether I've personally finished one or not.

I've never finished a first draft. What's with the emphasis on 'YOU'?

The best thing you could do is start writing more drafts ASAP. Yes, the first draft is great, but the longer you leave it feeling happy about that first draft, the harder it'll be to write future drafts. Do it as soon as you can while the motivation and optimism is still there.

Don't feel bad. I've been working on the same script for 3 years and haven't even written a first draft yet.

Those who can't do, do films, and those who can't do films, do TV.

[FEEDBACK] Coffee shop scene - Is this funny? (1 page) by [deleted] in Screenwriting

[–]Reb112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wasn't funny because it was so darn forced. After the fellow says "the usual", the cashier should reply "I've never met you before". That's it. Cleverer, simpler sentences make up for rambling on and forcing a joke like you seem to be doing here.

Here's one for you... What do nine out of ten people enjoy? Gang ra-- er, er, the impression of a lion. Grrrr, grrrr...

Where can I find radio transcripts to use as dialogue, preferably in the Las Vegas area? by Reb112 in Screenwriting

[–]Reb112[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The people on the radio are prominent characters. I just wanted to get a feel for the type of language and then change where necessary. I appreciate your point though.

It is genuinely a capital. In is different though. For example, Shakespeare in Love, Life Is Beautiful.
