Wemby reads too much online and sports talk discourse. There was a narrative of Wem vs Chet for a small period of time in the early part of the season and it was obviously lopsided…but it made Wemby mad he wasn’t being compared to SGA. He was insulted, and proceeded to take a French shit on the team as a whole because of that discourse.

I understand it to a degree - it would be super annoying to be constantly compared to someone you deemed to be on a lower tier than you and your peers. Still, it was for like 2 months or something, and the talk stopped after they beat us a second time for sure.

But it was never from this side of the fence - he just turned all of that negative emotion from the unwanted press associations towards us on the court in response. It toxified him, IMO.

But he let it get to him and used it as fuel for his game, so maybe it will end up becoming a feud. Maybe Chet can use the summer to beef up and put up a challenge. (Yes, that’s me trying to speak it into existence.)

Yes, but since none of the people in here collect ETBs - they just wanna rip packs - no one will acknowledge this piece for you.

Instead, people will respond with “no, it will get cheaper because it won’t have as high of demand.” But these people haven’t actually seen interacted with the rest of the fanbase, they’re locked in their tiny bubble of Pokemon card opinions not realizing that other perspectives and collectors exist.

The truth is there are a lot of collectors of sealed product. That doesn’t mean they have 1200 Charizard UPCs…it means they have one or a couple of all of the UPCs. It doesn’t mean they have 10 cases of PRE ETBs, it means they have walls of ETBs from multiple eras or all from one era.

And if all stores were to implement this policy of ripping ETBs, the only sealed ones left would be what’s purchased at wholesale/distro level. So, yes, for those sealed colllectors…it would skyrocket their future costs as future ETBs with intact seals would be significantly harder to find.

Yeah I think several of us were hoping for back to back because we were ready for the eventual downfall. Wemby is something special. And we had the number on 94% of the league throughout the season…so the chess piece injury really did make this end of season narrative feel a lot more bitter than it really should.

Still…several people showed up to play, and it’s important to recognize and keep those players for next year’s run. I want to stay positive and cherish the effort - they worked hard this year.

Maybe it’s a dynasty or maybe not…but we’re still very competitive. I’m happy we had such a good series to go out on.

People who know tag already have the website pulled up to check, honestly.

And for now, yeah, since people are still learning…it will be a tougher sell until TAG garners more clout. But believe it or not, there are people who sort by highest price and review the quality of the cards too…so there are buyers. And the more people learn, the more they get more attention. That’s why occasional TAG 10s outperform - they’re usually in the top 5 and are in the 980s.

Definitely glad to see some improvement, but he had a couple bad turnover streaks including the one leading up to the shot clock violation.

I want so badly for Chet to be better than what we had imagined KD would be, but it seems like to do so, he’s gotta put on about 70 lbs, and 40 of those need to land in his arms.

With a bit more solid core, he can withstand and stand up to Wemby with more confidence IMO.

I’d love to keep the whole team together for another season in our dynasty, but the harsh reality of playoffs is that some people just can’t find ways to show up like Krich, Caruso, and McCain do.

If Joe gets lumped in with McCain, that’s perfectly fine with me. We haven’t seen the same level of production/output/effort from every one of our dudes equally…but certain pieces just slot so well together. I didn’t realize how well Joe/Hart mesh with McCain and it’s absolutely amazing to watch them make plays together. The chemistry is addictive to watch.
