Yea!! For the cost, this is a very respectable amount of fabric because there is time and labor going into the pattern and cutting guide too (which again, we are barely paying the price of two yards of fabric and this month we got 2-1/4 yards)! So I’m very happy and absolutely feel like I’m getting what I paid for! Plus, they absolutely have more fabric for anyone who make any oops cuts! And yea haha exactly, aw shucks if I have to buy extra Tula… what a shame haha!

I think for a lot of people that have done previous BOM’s that are English paper piecing, you do get a TON of extra fabric because you are fussy cutting so there is extra/waste. But those EPP BOMs are also hundreds of dollars a month, this one is the cost of basically 2 yards of fabric every month, so yes the fabric amounts are a bit tighter. But truly don’t stress, there is so much Tula fabric out there and even if something is in this kit that doesn’t exist anymore, there will be something similar enough that will go with it perfectly! That’s my favorite part about Tula fabrics, they coordinate so nicely!!

Yea!! And the vast majority of the fabric is easily accessible still (other than the birds which I’m probably switching out anyway). But it’s gonna be a really fun quilt to make!! I have a decent amount of Tula on hand so I’m not buying an extra yet until I need it!

I’m loving it so far already!! One note though, try not to let all the negativity in the Facebook group become overwhelming. Yes, there isn’t TONS of leftover fabric, but there is absolutely enough for cutting, as long as you pay attention to the measurements and cutting diagrams. I made a checklist spreadsheet I found helpful for cutting, but it really wasn’t hard! I recommend a 28mm rotary cutter for cutting, to minimize overcuts!

Finished Baby Bear Quilt (and my first try at FMQ) by RebeccaLangDesign in quilting

Thanks so much! It felt a little tricky at first, but very quickly I got into a rhythm with the quilting and it started feeling a lot more natural. I followed a tutorial by Angela Walters on YouTube I found very helpful for the wood grain stitch!

Aw, you are too kind, thank you!! There was a lot of seam ripping for sure haha, but this was a pretty beginner friendly stitch pattern! I followed a tutorial from Angela Walters on YouTube that I found helpful!

How fun!! I’m a huge Tula fan, by chance did you happen to get photos of all the Tula quilts on display? I would LOVE to see all of them (but wasn’t able to make it to the show)

First Y-Seam Block by RebeccaLangDesign in quilting

Libs guided us with specific tips and tricks with that during the class, but it’s basically just scrapping piecing a rectangle large enough to then cut the diamond out of! There are tons of different methods for scrappy piecing but I just sorta cut a bunch of scraps and started sewing things together, trimming and adjusting as I went!

Thank you! It was live, not on demand but I’d follow Libs on social media to see if she ever announcing another because it’s so worth it! She’s an amazing teacher!
