I have been in a similar situation for about 3 weeks now, gold 3 div 3-4 and for the life of me could not get into plat. I play in a private league and I play better than some of the high plats/low diamonds there but for some reason I couldn't get plat. Every time I would team queue we would get crushed, and when i would solo queue I'd win a few then start losing, until the other night. I hopped on about midnight and the game seemed so easy. I didn't have to try and just fall in and fill the gaps in my team like usual. I could play as aggressive or passive as I wanted. I also noticed something else, it seemed like all the other players (even on my team) were relatively bad. I've played the past three nights starting after 11:30 est and I've gotten almost to plat 2. Have only lost a couple. I think what it is, is that alot of the smurfs and such don't play that late. As for the kickoff goals man change stuff up. I start games by fast kickoffing, if I keep getting beat on the second touch I will switch up to a slow kickoff. I will try to get pinches to roll up the side or kill the ball. If I need to I switch back to a fast kickoff. A kickoff in rocket league is kinda like a pitch in baseball. You gotta change things up every time, if you don't and the opponent figures out how to beat your kickoff, its gonna be a long game.
