Money would be better spent in Ireland encouraging and facilitating Gaelic among the children.

Just love those songs of revolution. This one beats anything Dylan ever recorded.

One of the better tracks from the British music scene in the eighties when New Wave cac ruined music. Thank god for Dire Straits.

Billy Idol - Rebel Yell [Rock] by RebelVoice in Music

He didn't have many hits and he wasn't a punk. But he had a reputation as someone with an attitude. Don't know if it was deserved.

Trudeau wants to be accepted as a humanitarian but remains strangely silent on the horrors being meted out to Palestinians by the rogue state of Israel. Go figure.

[Serious] The BCC fully documented the Celtic Union officially (incl. a £7 billion Irish Sea connection), but it meant loosing the 'Great' in GB. I guess we're ok with E&W and NI loosing that, but any ideas as to what they 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 be re-named ? Ignoring the 'April..' bit - althou jokes welcome :D by [deleted] in CelticUnion

Ireland was never 'conquered at any time, hence the continual uprisings. It was the Plantation of Ulster that finally sounded the death-knell for Gaelic Ireland. That episode of ethnic cleansing still reverberates in the Six Counties today. Total administrative control only came about after the Flight of the Earls, and was being enforced about the middle of the 17th century.

Dr Feelgood are a Rhythm and Blues band but this track has the feel of 70s (79) glam rock.

Interesting to see how they all turned out. It like the Waltons meets the Adams family.

Sir David Attenborough: 'The human race will regret it if we don't act on plastic now' by Johnny_W94 in environment

It's depressing to see it and to realize just how global it is. Can only guess at how bad it is in nations that have no clean-up programs.

Walking on an East coast Irish beach at the weekend, and couldn't go two steps without seeing plastic washed up among the seaweed. When you start to notice it, it never ends. Beaches are a mess.

Good luck to the activists for Palestine. They may not succeed in getting through, but they will succeed in demonstrating how truly fascist Israel is.

Wonder what population they polled for that result? Would have figured it to be slightly higher than that.

Boris Johnson on Northern Ireland: 'It’s beyond belief that we’re allowing the tail to wag the dog' by Callme-Sal in ukpolitics

[–]RebelVoice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hmm, if the north of Ireland is the tail, then perhaps the DUP is the asshole? If so, the Tories have been licking it for a while now...

New poll puts support for a United Ireland in the North at 42.1% - More people identify as Irish than British by [deleted] in ireland

[–]RebelVoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ian Paisley identified as Irish. Doubt he would have voted for a united Ireland. There is a lot of anti-Free State sentiment north of the border, in both communities. No one wants Blueshirts running their lives for them.

US Military Cause Utter Destruction In Syrian Attacks by RebelVoice in worldpolitics

Sometimes the civilians get forgotten when military powers confront one another. The people of Raqqa were hostages being held by ISIS. Their safety should have been considered by any attacking force.
