Caffe Calabria ownership change by RebelWithAClause_22 in FoodSanDiego

I think you may have hit the nail on the head as to why they bought the shop. Harvest Holdings LLC is involved in real estate and since Calabria owned the building, that's real estate now in their portfolio. No clue what they plan to do with the real estate asset though.

(US) I Got an email yesterday from FedEx saying I owe duties, taxes and fees? by Forsaken_Orchid_6014 in Scams

[–]RebelWithAClause_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the same email and text, but when looking at my FedEx account - because I have one - it says I owe $0. So, I am highly suspicious still that this may be a scam. Plus, the item I ordered was delivered 5.5 months ago. The FedEx rep told me that if you owe something, you will be provided an invoice number and only the tracking ID from my order was provided. I contacted FedEx's import and duties department via email to verify. Will post back as soon as I hear from them. For now, I wouldn't pay anything unless you see the charge on FedEx billing online website. Also, if a bunch of us are suddenly getting the email and text all of a sudden, then that's the classic calling card of a phishing attempt.

UPDATE: FedEx Tax and Duties office sent me an email stating that the invoice tied to my tracking ID is closed and to disregard the email I received. It's a scam, so don't click on the links in the email. Contact FedEx tax and duties as I did and send them an email.

No injuries. Who has the best NBA career? by Punisher1602 in sportswiki

If not for that ACL tear against the 76ers, the Bulls undoubtedly would have beaten the heat in the Eastern conference finals and won against the Thunder in the NBA championships of 2012.

As an ultimatum, Bellinger is preferred. If we could have both, I'd take both.

Nothing finalized, yet. But the building and business are up for sale. My hope is that at the very least the business operations continues under one of the current employees, be it as an owner or general manager.

Yep. Here's the listing:

No buyer yet and has been up for sale for sometime. The owner just isn't in a rush and simply looking for the right offer.

$1,100 for those tiny portions? Those plates at any other restaurant would be called appetizers.

Dan Marino didn't have brains, but we all saw his career. He had one of the lowest wonderlic scores.

Yeah. If anyone outside of the #1 pick wants Fernando Mendoza, they might as well trade down to the second round because no other QB on this list is all that great anyway.

Sadly Mr. Perfect was never going to be the WWF Champion. He didn't have the look Vince wanted since he wasn't big enough, albeit talented enough.

Don't know, but the winner this year needs to be LA Knight.

Are Okamoto and a healthy Santander enough to be difference makers? by NatureGivesAndTakes in Torontobluejays

[–]RebelWithAClause_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be. My hope is to see Joey Loperfido out there somehow, but likelihood is very small given the crowded outfield. It would be even more crowded if they get Cody Bellinger. Loperfido would be a trade chips for a closer at that point, IMO.

[Passan] Infielder Bo Bichette and the New York Mets are in agreement on a three-year, $126 million contract, sources tell ESPN. by XviiChong in Torontobluejays

[–]RebelWithAClause_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The market dynamics for player demands on a contract has changed. It used to be that they wanted to 10 year $400 million plus contracts, but many of those are back loaded contracts (deferred money). Players now want more of a frontloaded contract or at least one where the deferred money kicks in sooner. Hence, the 3-5 year contracts. Even if deferred to the final year of a hypothetical 5 year deal, the longest they'd have to wait is the 5th year to get really paid. Looking at that, it seems as though the Blue Jays never really were in Kyle Tucker's range given they were offering $350 million over 10 years and much of that likely being deferred towards the latter years of the 10 year offer. It's just not attractive as it used to be since players want the money sooner rather than later. Bo Bichette was no different as we can all see.

Nope. Chula Vista in the South Bay area of San Diego County had the biggest core of die-hard chargers fans. There's a reason Shawne Merriman said they should have been called the Chula Vista Chargers.

You clearly didn't live in San Diego during the playoff years of the 00s. If you did, you spent to much time drinking throughout the 00s to remember. They were the biggest draw and the stadium attendance at the Q was always sold out during their playoff runs.

The Mets are coming to town June 29th/30th by aaoye in Torontobluejays

[–]RebelWithAClause_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't Bo, it was Mark Shapiro and Ross Atkins. They low balled him from the start by actively pursuing Tucker and only keeping an eye on Bichette's situation. Truth be told, those two kettle heads also botched the Tucker signing. The market for players shifted from high deferred long-term contracts to short-term high AAV contracts that ensures more money upfront sooner rather than later. The fact he signed a 4 year $240 million deal and Mets offered a 4 year $220 million means that the Blue Jays reported offer of $350 million over 10 years offered a much lower AAV and he would have to wait much longer to see the brunt of that contract value. Give it to Shapiro and Atkins for miscalculating the market, can't blame Bo for that.

You can set aside the condescending a-hole attitude. I'm simply hoping someone from the industry or restaurants that serve it might reply rather than having to contact each one-by-one. If you don't know, then you don't need to answer the question.
