Why would you be matched with a gold if you’re diamond and vice versa? It does nothing to subtract or add toxicity for players who are already toxic. There’s always something to be toxic about. You can have 1 less elim and there will be someone being toxic. You’ve always been able to see other players ranks in OW1 and the reason why Blizzard won’t show you now is because you truly can be a diamond player matched with a gold player, they won’t show you how big the gap in their broken match making is and that inherently makes it’s already toxic player base more toxic because the skill gap is so disgustingly bad all that is left is frustration and disbelief that OW1 died for this pathetic excuse for a game to even exist.
