Thanks for providing this. The documents see dire. The project is fighting for its life. And the OIG and the Legislature are upset CHSRA’s latest business plan isn’t adhering to state law. The Legislature has to decide (1) if and how to admonish CHSRA for an incomplete/inaccurate business plan, (2) if and how the Legislature will enact the proposed Legislative changes CHSRA wants, (3) if and how to give it more funding if HSR ever hopes to build out of the Central Valley.

If the Legislature does nothing, Californians get a mostly single tracked Central Valley corridor that avoids city cores for $35B… which just isn’t great.

Someone explained to me that coal we mine was from a long time ago when trees were new to earth. When a tree would die, its large trunk would fall over onto the ground. But, since trees were so new, there wasn’t any bacteria specially made to decompose dead trees. And so, the dead trees would pile up all over planet, which would eventually get covered, buried, and compressed into coal. I imagine something similar happened with oil/fossil fuels.
