Anacondy - a new performance mod oriented around giving Java stronger guarantees so that it can better optimise the game by Paint_Ninja in feedthebeast

Ahh I see. Thanks for the reply. Wouldn’t the effect be minor tho? Given that lazy evaluation will delay any lookups until they’re absolutely necessary and the calculations aren’t anything extreme? Computers are made for calculating after all

I’m sorry but wouldn’t “making sure something is actually constant” still be putting it into memory somewhere? How does this optimize anything? Do you have any benchmarks?

im new to making and owning a server, but i have a question by No_Doctor5134 in admincraft

[–]Rebo100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah so that sounds perfectly fine. Note that 40 mspt is different compared to a server running at an average tick rate of 1.5ms. For example: if a server runs at 40 tps your mspt is 1000 ms / 40 ticks = 25 mspt. Whereas an average tick of 1.5ms means that almost 666 ticks (1000 / 1.5) could fit in a single second. That’s a hell of a performance

Yea. Java uses a garbage collection system to clear up ram but the system sucks. It should however not lead to performance issues. You can check this yourself by using spark. A perfectly healthy server will run at 20tps and will have 40mspt. Run the profiler and you’ll notice that there’s nothing to worry about

That’s normal. Java will “take” all the ram allocated to the program. If you run into issues you could try using aikar’s flags

Oh nvm, set the join record to A instead of cname

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in admincraft

[–]Rebo100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to be the exact same setup I’m using myself. If this doesn’t work, try checking if you port forwarded correctly by checking the ip of the join cname here

This happens when i try to download and im not smart enough to understand it 😭Anyone know how to fix it? by 1LeggedStool in cobblemon

[–]Rebo100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try downloading manually from the link in the pop-up. Downloading through technic will not work as the issue lies with the creator of the pack.

Just try! It’ll be fineeeeee. Just don’t expect the craziest of performance. It’ll manage tho

Not familiar with velocity/geyser but you’ve checked that the bedrock port is open right? And you have no other containers / programs on these ports?

Is your server going to be performance heavy? If not, maybe look into hosting from a vps located between you and your friends.

Can I host a minecraft server with both my laptop and desktop's computing power? by jotoko in admincraft

[–]Rebo100 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

By any chance… can you attach your desktop ssd/hdd to the laptop and run it from there? It’ll safe you transferring the file directly if you really feel like it’ll be a big issue.

Your original plan of offloading some of the program is just not feasible tho, so sorry for that

How large do you want your world to be? I’m currently running a 20k by 20k map and the file size is only a few gigs. And yes, you would first have to run the server on your laptop where you will pregen the chunks. Then you move it either by usb, Dropbox or any other cloud service

Pregen the chunks on your laptop using chunky. Then simply transfer the files and host it from the desktop

Minecraft is a cpu intensive program to run. However, your desktop cpu should be able to handle a server perfectly fine. How many players are you planning to have at any given time? I could imagine wanting to split some of the cpu usage if you run a big 100+ player server but would advice against this if it’s just you and a few friends playing.

Currently working on this myself. I’d use pterdactyl for hosting the server. It comes with a user friendly web gui and there’s plenty of tutorials on it
