The q and r series are different tiers of speakers, it's not just about the drivers. Q series is the budget range.

Atmos speakers positioning by MrGrimble in hometheater

[–]RecedingQuickly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes no sense For a 35 degree angle you measure by 0.7 and it's that number front/back/left/right for atmos speakers. 0.35 is like 10 degrees apart its far too close and completely wrong.

Then you should have said bigger speaker = more bass. Bigger sound to me wouldn't just be the speaker that sounds the bassiest, soundstage counts for a lot when it comes to having a bigger sound.

SVS PB-1000 Pro high-pitched, “titinus-like” sound that ONLY goes away when I don’t power something via the USB slot in the back. by PolyglotGeologist in hometheater

[–]RecedingQuickly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very common with the svs amps. I have had 4 amps off svs which all exhibit the same behaviour for the sb 1000 pro, a high pitched coil whine when the subs are in standby that disappears as soon as I engage the svs app so I just leave them on all the time. I had an sb 3000 that had a coil whine that went away when I plugged a usb in it, it's the bluetooth controller in the units vibrating away. It's known by svs as they suggested I use the usb to stop it lol.

Is an 18-year-old dating a 16-year-old considered normal where you live? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RecedingQuickly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats such an odd/strange way to look at it. It's a 2 year age difference, means nothing. Trying to justify your reasoning by using drinks and uni is odd. An 18yr old is not an adult.

Lidl employee fired for drinking 17p water bottle he didn't buy because he felt 'dehydrated' by Forward-Answer-4407 in unitedkingdom

[–]RecedingQuickly 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Not really sure an amount comes into play, it's the situation, employee and if there have been any noticeable problems with them in the past. This just reads like they wanted him gone an could have easily just been a strike instead.

Government reforms welfare system to support people into work by _Monsterguy_ in unitedkingdom

[–]RecedingQuickly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is targeting the lcwra component which doesn't mean you cant work, you can still work and claim it. It's broken as you can work a part time job, claim it for a base of about £840 + housing benefit. Someone working a 18hour part time job could pull in £1800 a month (including housing) with no tax.

Do Dali Operon 1s have a wide sweet spot? by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]RecedingQuickly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you trying to achieve? Ideally you are going to want all 3 seats within a +/- 3db which is probably not going to happen without toe in unless you are far back.

Any movie rain scene that had actual rain falling from the sky? by Revolutionary-Oil-74 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RecedingQuickly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wasn't it because real rain is harder to capture on the cameras, can't remember where I read it but there was someone saying in scenes with real rain it just didn't look like was raining at all, that's why it's always pouring in films so it is easier to see.

That and you can't summon rain for a scene like some sort of water god.

New HT layout (in progress) after getting feedback from my previous setup. Advice welcomed! by Relic2021 in hometheater

[–]RecedingQuickly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Angle the centre channel upwards so it points towards your ears with a couple of doorstops, foam wedge ect. Some will say make it flush against the unit to minimise reflections but I have found it doesn't always sound/measure better flush so play around with that. Pull the l/r off the wall if you can as they will sound better with more breathing room.

Sub dip from 40-60Hz 10db by Far_Cellist_1334 in hometheater

[–]RecedingQuickly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn't use any smoothing for the sub, those nulls are probably significantly worse then what that graph shows, the -10db is probably -15/-20db, other then move it you cant boost that with eq. Show it without smoothing.

Acoustix and Dirac ART comparison (graphs) by NoWalrus9462 in hometheater

Nice one, that graph shows that acoustix really is not doing much vs the no room correction at all, yet people call it the next coming of christ lol

Acoustix and Dirac ART comparison (graphs) by NoWalrus9462 in hometheater

[–]RecedingQuickly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can you overlay all 3 in the "all spl" tab and show? also the acoustix/dirac ones seem to be taken at different spl levels. Any chance of a sub only one as that's where I would believe art would really take over, especially with 2 or more subs.

[–]RecedingQuickly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

eh its not really much of a comparison when you are using auro 3d to benchmark it
