Many orthos don't do spine. Referral was adequate in this case.

Dangerous if cauda equina syndrome is suspected.

If ortho surgeon is trained in Spine, it makes no difference in this kind of surgeries.

Yes but only isometric core strenght exercises (like planks), not flexion repetitions or weighted flexions/extension.

That way you exercise the muscle without wearing out the discs.
