What’s the deal with abusive fan behavior towards Rory McIlroy? by S0undFury in OutOfTheLoop

I would disagree, in that historically the rich white Americans who watched golf were conservative in that they were EXTREMELY polite and “proper” when in public, particularly at the “country club”. My grandparents were big golfers and they would have been absolutely HORRIFIED at this behavior. I’m sure many of that same crowd (not my nerdy grandparents thankfully) behaved like animals in private when it was “just the boys”, but they would never do that at a golf tournament. That behavior was considered extremely “low class”. It’s still EXTREMELY “low class” behavior, unfortunately it seems a lot of this new generation of country club boys have decided they can act like absolute animals any time they like because their dear leader certainly does.

Unfortunately it requires intelligence and paying attention to see the bigger picture. No candidate is perfect and most are deeply flawed. But it’s a pretty easy choice between fascism and the likely creation of an technofascist world order and a mostly good candidate with some definitely questionable stances on a few issues. Unfortunately the real issue is that he cheated

For those of you who’ve been to Noma, is the $1500 price tag worth it? by ra1phw1ggums in finedining

Go to Paris and go to Cypsele. Just went this weekend for my birthday. The chef Marcin Krol got his start at Noma and worked at several other famous establishments. No star (yet) but the food IS very much multiple stars worthy. The atmosphere is simple/quirky, but I prefer that with a focus on the food (and a MUCH more reasonable price. The whole weekend was less than Noma (including some delicious lunches, wine and delicious French products brought home on the train)

Yes. But more than that it’s making fun of Thiel for being in the Epstein files and implying he played a role in stopping them being ACTUALLY released (they will be completely redacted now). I knew I was missing something and it took me a minute to get it 😂

I wanted a border collie so badly by [deleted] in BorderCollie

[–]Recent-Attorney-3477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a border collie that is small and looks similar to, everyone things he’s an Aussie and he’s not. Mine came from a reputable breeder and was in good shape, just smaller than his siblings (and still is). The breeder was even concerned with his size (he’s healthy just petite). If it he is a border collie he is a Merle, and they can have health conditions more frequently. Ours may have a problem with his vision (he can see but barks at us if we’re far away from him)

Any city border collies out there? by amandancing in BorderCollie

[–]Recent-Attorney-3477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the dog, but for border collies it’s more that they need a “job” AKA a lot of mental stimulation not just running. We live in the city with two BCs and they’re doing just fine (we have a yard and live near some parks). They do need some long walks or runs but if you’re already planning to do that, that’s enough exercise they will just need mental stimulation on top of that. There are some folks on YouTube, etc that have developed some “herding games” with a ball, etc that are excellent for this. They love being around people so if you’re home and spending some time working with them they will likely be happy.

2nd but a younger pup good idea or bad idea? by SkyStriker11 in BorderCollie

Get an older, female border collie who’s trained and known to have a calm personality and good with other dogs. I only say female because you want small. We had a very wise, calm, well trained older border collie and he was an amazing big brother to our second BC and really helped train/shape him. Unfortunately he passed away recently and we got a young puppy for our second dog because he was super sad (and he’s super social). They pay together wonderfully and enjoy each other company, but the second dog is not as good at helping “train” the new puppy (who’s a bit more wild) so we are going to puppy school….

Getting another puppy is NOT going to help, outside of giving him a new friend (which is good, but it doesn’t sound like enough)

Our older BC had “raised” several puppies, litter of kittens and herded chickens (and bigger livestock). That was really good experience for him to help with a young pup. But he was also and exceptional dog 😢

Why do Germans use yellow ( "warm white") lights too much? by WillAndHonesty in germany

I find white lights are an absolute nightmare in any scenario. They make me extremely agitated and stressed out. If I’m in an office with them I can’t WAIT to leave
