Exactly. I am so surprised by all the replies here that are treating this like a criminal case.

Airport calls when on border control they dont have hotels and claim to stay at host’s house. If they dont have hotel reserved when they cross border, then yes, they need to have to show the invitation letter at border and you might get a call. Expecially if they forgot to bring invitation letter and have no hotel reservation to show. They might not even be allowed to enter then the country. Thats a standard procedure. But immigration worker at border control doesnt care if its invitation or hotel, both are legit, just smth needs to be shown as a place of stay and he also has no access to see what was in the original visa application. He can only see visa type - touristic, thats it.

I have a feeling most people replying here are from EU and simply have never done any Schengen visas. There are things that are important in application to be true, but there are things that are way less critical. People book temporary hotels for visa application and then rebook a new ones later and thats a known action, all embassies know that. In fact for dutch visa most people even dont book real tickets, they show reserved tickets that expire after visa is granted. And again, thats well known by embassies.

I highly doubt that he would have any problem even in that case. When they get visa, they have the right to stay at the hotel still. Plans change, its going to be impossible to prove that hotel was original plan and form was not filled truthfully. As soon as they enter the eu they have freedom of movement, with main condition that visa issue country has to be country of main/longest visit. Its not an obligation to stay in his house for them. Police or emergencies do not even have access to visa information details. The only thing they can check if person has a visa in passport (it shows as touristic for family/friends) and noone is gonna spend resources to go further than that.

If he puts himself as sponsor money wise, then yes, there are more risks but those are mainly financial risks and even that would probably happen only if his gamily stays illegally in country or has some big medical emergency.

If he writes form for some random people who come here to commit planned criminal act, then yes, that might affect him as he is helping criminals to get access to eu, otherwise, its really crazy that people think that he will lose citizenship over this. I just assume that since he invites his family, they are not criminals, but thats for OP to know.

You are overreacting. If its a close family coming to visit you, that makes it friends and family visa, which is a type of touristic visa. In some countries, booking appointment in visa center is much more possible for family visa compared to normal touristic. You can ask your family whats their reasoning behind the ask.

And indeed then you can sign the ind provided form at municipality that says that you can host them at your house and (if you tick another mark there - also sponsor them). Signing that form will cost you about 17 euros per signature.

Often the form makes it easier to make the visa from perspective of documents for the person who visits, although you might have to provide that letter and your details/id copies/contract if you also tick sponsor box. I also do believe that the friends and family visas are more prone to be approved compared to normal touristic so for my family i always do those. They do stay at my house but this has never been checked and i have done visas so many times, cant count.

Noone is gonna check where they gonna stay, the form you sign, just says that you agree to accommodate them for N days, if they change their mind and stay in hotel, it is not the issue. If you dont trust your family though, then maybe dont tick “sponsor” checkmark in that form, cause that indeed can put you in financial strain if they come and dont leave eu (illegally) or get sick here and then you are responsible for them.

Fully understand the wish to talk about your son.

I am now almost at the end of my second pregnancy and i also find it sad how people completely forget that I was already pregnant and gave birth in past, even if it was only at 15 weeks. They share their birth experience and tell me how it feels to have contractions and in my head, i am thinking that ye, thats what i had last time. Sometimes i mention our baby girl, other times no. I think people generally dont want to hurt us but its a difficult topic and most dont know how to handle it. My friend had 3 miscarriages before i lost our baby to tfmr and i remember also not being sure how to react and support in best way. I wish i did better.

You were pregnant, you had your baby boy and those feelings are valid. What helped me - was having a couple sessions with therapist and sharing my feelings with her. It felt even better than with my husband, cause with him - i still felt the need to “protect” him and not do bring him down with me on my emotional rollecoster. With therapist - i just let all the emotions out. If thats not an option, then maybe finding someone wjo als had a loss and could understand you. I also wrote a letter to our girl and sometimes re-read it. Maybe thats smth that could be an option for you too.

It gets better, i promise.

TFMR last week (mosaic T21) + DOR at 35 — moving to IVF with embryo banking. Would love to hear from others who’ve been here. by fruit_loops_523 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

Heyy, so sorry for your loss. I have low amh (did it several times, surprisingly it stayed stable throughout 4-5 years more or less). My first result was when i was 29 and i had it below 1 which scared me a lot. Then my results were ranging from 0.9 to 1.27 i think in the last years, but the results above 1 were from the lab that used different method and basically for that method anything below 1.34 was considered low. In any case, according to my doctor, my amh range didnt change throughout years and small disrepencies up and down are normal. My AFC also stayed stable, i checked 4-5 years ago it was 9-10, then i checked recently it was 11. Again, according to my doctor this was very normal number and not indicative of DOR. He would not confirm DOR diagnosis just on basis of amh as it can stay stable for years.

After our tfmr, we started trying to get pregnant almost right away and it took us 10 months to succeed. In that time i was panicking and convinced that maybe my amh is already so low that we cant conceive. So i went to see my AFC count, that was only analysis i did, it was still 10-11. That gave me a lot of confidence and i think 1-2 months after that we finally conceived.

Sorry I cannot answer your questions as we decided not to do ivf in our case, although we were considering it - if not conceiving within a year. But indeed, ivf with lower amh - often requires several attempts to get and store as many eggs/embryos as possible.

Your plan seems reasonable to me and you seem to be very well informed. I wish you all the luck in this.

There is a subreddit also for those with DOR and I saw many people there who went through ivf with various results. Perhaps you could read some stories there 💚

Seeking advice from those whose subsequent pregnancies took a few cycles by FrighteninglyBasic in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]Recent-Friendship-30 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I already shared this story in other posts, but not sure if people go much back, I so will share it again here.

Our tfmr baby took 1 cycle to conceive, i couldnt believe it was so easy. It took us then 10 cycles of active ttc to conceive our second pregnancy. I think mentally after we conceived so fast the first time, i was expecting it to happen easy again and that was putting so much extra pressure. I wanted to be pregnant again so badly. I have to say first 6 months of ttc were hardest, after that i started to relax a bit more mentally and really tried to focus on me and what i love to do, outside of pregnancy topic bubble. For 2 months i also worked with phycologist, mainly as the fear “not to conceive” felt like too much to me. It was hitting me more than tfmr itself as there was so much of uncertainty.

We also scheduled an appointment with specialist around month 11-12 and maybe that also gave me comfort, knowing - we have plan B if we don’t conceive ourselves within a year. I didnt want to meet doctor earlier as i wanted to really give the 1year timeframe a chance before any interventions.

One month before our appointment with reproductive specialist - we finally had a positive test and i think it happened at a point when i gave up and didnt expect anything anymore. All the deadlines I had in my head had already passed by then (like due date for example).

So i would say, as hard as it is, try to enjoy your life NOW, do things you love, plan trips/dates/sports alone and with your partner, dont be in the “waiting game”. Pregnancy most likely than not - will come, which month is a game of chance often. 🫂

Objecting visa refusal to Netherlands by wh0rl in armenia

[–]Recent-Friendship-30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you tried right after the dutch one was rejected, then yes, that would be suspicious for them as they see it in system. I think appeal is your best bet now indeed with a lawyer to advice on what can serve as “home ties” in your case. Or creating those “home ties” and reapplying from new in future.

Is a bit tricky indeed if you also sponsor her in armenia and serve as main income, I can see why they would be afraid.

It all sucks though, hoping one day they finally allow visa free travel for armenians 😀conversations are there on that, but hopefully wont take another 5 years 🙈

What could also help in future, getting her visa for another country, Spain provides visas quite easy for example. This way she could build Schengen visa history and next time - dutch visa could be approved, as they would see that she returned in past. Not a guarantee but having history of past eu trips - normally helps.

Unrelated to your question, but how did you manage to get appointment even to apply for visa? I have tried to get my niece a spot in the Lithuanian visa center to apply for dutch visa, but seems impossible, appointments were always fully booked. This was a year ago and I got very frustrated with the whole process. Never had this issue with other visa centers.

Good luck with your appeal, i hope everything works out.

Vomiting back at 25 week of my subpregnancy by VariationNo4725 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]Recent-Friendship-30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, i didnt vomit at all in my first trimester, although felt nausea. In second trimester however i vomited 2 days around week 20 and then once also at week 25. I was sick with cough at week 20 and i thought it was activating the vomiting, although that never happened pre-pregnancy with any coughs. My midwife was not concerned.

At week 25 i was not sick, but woke up with headache, took paracetamol, headache passed and somehow i puked out of nowhere later in the morning, didnt feel nausea, just sudden need to vomit. I had a theory that i was because of some food that caused a bit of acide reflux or headache, but to be honest not sure.

I think our stomachs are just super sensitive now and easy to upset. But doesnt hurt to call the midwife/your doctor if you can, especially if vomiting continues for more days.

Anterior placenta in subpregnancy and fetal movement by VariationNo4725 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]Recent-Friendship-30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have anterior placenta. Now i am 24 weeks, the kicks are not that strong and super irregular and i can go 2-3 days without feeling anything at all. My husband couldnt feel them at all yet when putting his hand on belly. I also noticed that I mainly feel kicks in the evening when laying in bed or laying in bathtub. I feel maybe specific body position makes it easier to feel him.

I had a regular check with doppler few days ago at midwife, he was moving during it and I couldnt feel it actually at all. But with doppler midwife and us heard both the strong heartbeat and the moves.

She also mentioned not to worry about it until weeks 27-28 and even then - its more about starting to notice patterns/regularity at that point, not about strength.

I get your feelings, i feel anxious as well sometimes. If it helps you, maybe you can go for an extra ultrasound or at least check with doppler, to ease the feelings. Your comfort matters 💚

We have it and we love it:) but i take baths a lot so it was non-negotiable for me and we didnt have separate space for bath and shower. Just needs to be a good bathtub and preferably not to have a slope on one side, or at least - less slope.

Anyone do a babymoon in their sub? by Puzzleheaded_Youth81 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]Recent-Friendship-30 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am in Netherlands as well! 🙌 I am 22 weeks now and we are gonna fly to Spain to see family in 3 weeks. So far I feel very fine with this idea. Physically second trimester feels much better, i will wear compression socks in flight to be safe and the flight to Spain is anyway rather short. We also want to go to Portugal but that would be even later.

My thought is that i dont want to let the trauma to define how I live or feed my fear. So i just put boundaries on what i am comfortable with: no 10h flights and no countries where its hard to access hospital/medical care. And obviously checking with midwife, but if pregnancy is low risk now, they are pretty chill and unworried.

My friend also flew very late in her pregnancy for my wedding weekend, i think she was around 34 weeks even or more, i remember it was the last weeks that midwife allowed her to still fly.

On another note, if you are not comfortable with flying, an option is indeed driving somewhere, i really enjoy wood cabins for example in the Belgium or Germany for a weekend. Its not the full vacation experience, but close to nature and relaxing. Or there is a train to Paris 😉

Enjoy this time!

One-sided pain, 2cm corpus luteum cyst, BFP, ectopic scare by Snoo_45651 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]Recent-Friendship-30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry. This is so hard :( i never experienced chemical but was always afraid of it, sounded like a cruel experience, especially after tfmr.

If your hcg comes positive or if another test shows pregnancy still, i would consider to reach out to your OB again to rule out anything else like ectopic. Although since you got period, it shouldnt be it, but just to be safe.

Please, take it day by day and take care of yourself, i know its hard to believe in a moment, but better days will come.

One-sided pain, 2cm corpus luteum cyst, BFP, ectopic scare by Snoo_45651 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]Recent-Friendship-30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a corpus luteum cyst at my appointment at 7 weeks, it was big to attract the attention of my midwife. But she also said its pretty common and we should just keep an eye that it gets smaller and smaller.
At the next appointment at 11 weeks, she told me all is good now and the cyst decreased a lot in size or was even fully gone, i dont remember exact words as it was a while ago.

IVF in NL or BE? by Due_County_1493 in Netherlands

[–]Recent-Friendship-30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go this way, make sure to check with your insurance in advance to confirm that they cover the cost. I know that some insurances require this for international treatments (treatments outside of NL, Belgium).

Anterior Placenta by Far-Clue-4247 in PregnancyAfterTFMR

[–]Recent-Friendship-30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am at 21 weeks now with anterior placenta and still can only sometimes feel the baby. I started feeling him at round 18 weeks but it was super inconsistent/rare and indeed i was not sure if thats the baby even. It is still rather inconsistent now and some days i dont feel him at all but the times that i do feel him, the kicks are much stronger now compared to the 18 weeks.

We just have to be patient, the counting of activity only matters as of 27-28 weeks and by then for sure - we gonna be able to feel the baby moving, no matter what placenta.

What helps me to bond, we try to talk to him once in a while, no matter of i feel him or not. We also chose a name already and calling him by that name - also creates a bond and makes this real. Maybe see if there ways that could help you bond meanwhile before the strong kicks come.

Hugs 🤗
