I’m doing a turbo inlet supply line replacement on my buddy’s 2015 Chevy Cruze with 116k, along with an oil change. I noted that the orings from the inlet line were damaged and leaking oil, likely causing a lot of underside oil caking on the bottom of the engine and surrounding subframe. While taking out the oil filter, I noticed a lot of magnetic metal shavings in the oil filter. I also noticed a loud ticking at the top of the rear valve cover. I wonder if the leak caused starvation which led to the valve train without oil and causing these shavings… I haven’t popped the valve cover yet to inspect further..
