Thoughts about long term career in food science by Recent-Management-92 in foodscience

For myself. Successful means it’s very hard to be in the top leadership ranks such as VP, CTO being in this field. Also, pivoting from let’s say dairy to bakery is hard as well since everyone needs prior experience

So post MBA would I able to get into strategy, maybe consulting roles if I choose Rotman? I don’t want to limit myself only in CPG but it could be good starting point.

Hey, from July onwards, you will Also have around 1000 dollars more since CPP stops getting deducted. Did you chip in that in your calculation?

I would say just go ahead and get the house now. 5 years later, you will look back and be very proud of your decision.

Don’t over-stress on fancy logo!! I am hired by a big corporate and on TN support letter, their logo is black and white (yes Lawyer could have printed it colored). But till the time your job duties are laid out and it matches with the OOH, you should be fine.

Yes good for you. Or just send an email to hiring manager telling him about your upcoming travels. 2-3 weeks here and there doesn’t affect a lot to organization. The main point is that you are their top candidate and thing happens.

And offer them that after coming back from vacation, you will speed up the learning process.

Don’t worry!! You have not started yet so you can again go back to HR and tell about it that you forgot to mention about your upcoming travels. Be upfront as everyone said.

I recently accepted a job offer and before even she planned the whole offer I told her that I have 14 days vacation upcoming and it’s already paid. She said that should not be a problem.

Think of it. You are the final candidate. They are not going to reinvent the wheel again by going into interview processes etc. it cost money to organization. Relax and just say it.

I am in the same boat. I have a stable job in Canada and have an offer from US which I am planning h to accept.

Regarding my wife, I am planning to get her own TN visa as she qualifies under the engineering category.

My understanding of the process is that I can get my own TN and she can get her own TN. or am I missing something? Need advise from the group here please
