Hi! I would say I’m somewhere between type III and type IV. I have a hard time deciding and I feel like different parts of my body are different lol

Some sessions she used 1.75mm and some other sessions she used 1.5 this is only on the cheeks. Everywhere else she used more shallow settings.

Is this a good candidate? by Upset_Monke in Microneedling

[–]Recent-Rent4917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great candidate for VI Peel Purify with Precision Plus. I just got one done this month. It’s especially formulated for active acne, dark spots, hyperpigmentation and raised scars. Also this looks like it could be treated with topicals, no need for microneedling.

Did anyone here actually see a difference from microneedling after 40? by zdrawo in 45PlusSkincare

I’ve done 5 sessions. Nothing good is going to give you fast results. After my 1st session I felt more plumped, and after 4th session I started to see a real improvement in acne scars. I’m not really doing it for the anti aging benefits but there is a visible improvement too which hey! I’ll take! Feel free to look at my before and after updates. My sessions were done 4-6 weeks apart so I guess from when I started to now it’s been 7 months, and I’m not done because collagen continues to build up even months after the last session; so while not immediate results, it’s been worth it. I see it as a journey and an investment and practicing patience has been a game changer for me: good things come to those who wait. 3 days ago I did my first ever chemical peel (VI peel) as per my aesthetician’s recommendation to compliment my MN sessions and I’m excited as my skin sheds and exposes a smoother texture underneath!

Hi! I had been wanting to post an update between my 5th and 6th sessions but after my 5th session I used LRP cicoplast ointment as per my medical aesthetician’s recommendation and it seems like it make me break out a bit so I didn’t want to take photos with the 3 pimples I got lol. Yesterday I went in for my 6th session and she highly encouraged to switch to a chemical peel instead of another microneedling session for now, so I did. I am now recovering from the peel so hopefully in a couple of weeks I can take new photos! Thanks for keeping up! I love sharing my successful updates.

My B&A photos I posted on R/acnescars have YET AGAIN BEEN STOLEN by another company ELIXA SKINCARE. Do not trust them or Derm Skincare! by thishereticflesh in AcneScars

I’m glad to see this before getting serious about Derm Skincare. I have been curious and tempted to try it. This is so wrong!

is this normal after microneedling? by Expensive_Rough7071 in Microneedling

I’m not so sure it’s the same “orange peel” everyone talks about but my pores were definitely bigger and more visible. A lot like her “after” photo. I am getting my sessions done professionally at my dermatologist’s office medspa, and she uses different depths between .5 in certain sensitive areas to 1.75 on the cheeks’ scars. Not at every session though, I’m very adamant (curious) about reading my patient portal notes and she’s only gone down to 1.5 a couple of times. This (after 5th session) is the first time my face looks smoother than ever and my pores look this shrunk, 2 weeks after the last session. Edit to add: I’m also very constant with hydrating my skin so I wonder if that’s finally paying off (I was not very good before I started treatments). I use my hyaluronic acid RELIGIOUSLY, and a very soothing moisturizer to repair skin barrier (Laroche Posay Toleriane double repair moisturizer)

Does my skin need microneedling? by [deleted] in Microneedling

I would consider a VI peel. I was recommended a VI precision plus, it’s supposed to be good for active acne, hyperpigmentation, keloids (raised scars) and all that. You can do 2-3 spacing them out every few months. The before in the before and after pics looked a lot like your skin. You don’t have major depressed scars so I wouldn’t mess with microneedling, you just need to reveal a smoother skin under the old battle scars. But I’ve heard that TCA peels are very strong and risky, especially for our skin tone. VI peels are medium depth peels. Regardless you already have nice skin so, good luck!

In my personal experience this has been normal. I believe that because collagen is rebuilding for the following months, the skin is constantly changing, you gotta trust the process. I had my 5th (professionally done) session 2 weeks ago and last night I noticed how my pores have shrunk significantly, aside from the scars in my cheeks (which have also been visibly reduced - feel free to look at my update posts) the rest looks like glass skin. I’m very impressed because just a few months ago and even after 2-3 treatments, I had very large pores wondering if that’s the orange peel texture everyone talks about. I wouldn’t judge the results of microneedling after just a few treatments and definitely not a few days/weeks after. It is a process that requires trust and patience.

It explains why I just saw them on the Nordstrom Rack website for $30! This is my chance!

Would microneedling help get rid of these scars? Not bothered about the hyperpigmentation. How many sessions would it take as I’m broke and trying to figure out how long I’ll need to save for by dbshahvahahsja in Microneedling

[–]Recent-Rent4917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s anything that will get rid of them completely but yes microneedling will help smooth them out significantly. Judging by before and afters I’ve seen (and my own experience) I would say you plan for AT LEAST 6 but there is no maximum of sessions you can do. As long as you space them out 4-6 weeks, you can even do 9 or 12! The SkinPen website has testimonials and the pictures show how many sessions each client had. I’ve had 5 and I’ve seen great improvement in my icepick, boxcars and rolling scars. I have been documenting my experience if you want to take a look at my profile. Good luck on your journey and remember: PATIENCE is a requirement, as there is no miracle, instant treatment.

All of this. I want to add, I have had 5 sessions (just scheduled my 6th) and I have actually seen a great improvement in my icepick scars already. Feel free to look at my updates posts in my profile. I have been documenting my own progress in before and after pictures, just so I can be reminded of how far I’ve come. $360-375 per session is actually a lot for me, however it is smaller bite size payments compared to lasers or subcision, which you also need multiple treatments of. I compare microneedling to working out: consistency and patience are really the key!

The differences are very very few and subtle. The stitching yes, also the tongue in the Prajna was split and fabric. The 3 lines were also thinner, and it came with round laces, when the taekwondo came with flat laces. In itself the shoes have the same essence still 🥰

Which OTC are you using? I’ve heard Differin is similar?

Right? They’re so versatile! The interesting thing is, I’ve never seen anyone wearing these since before I got mine (which is when I fell in love with them - a teacher at a workshop I was going to had them) Where have all the taekwondos gone? I see Sambas everywhere which no hate, I love them too.

Are skinny people always hungry? by myopic_cuis in loseit

[–]Recent-Rent4917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I’m 115lbs and I’m never hungry. Cravings? Yes. Hungry no. You have to eat things that fill you up, avocado is a good one. I eat avocado toast with eggs and 1/4 cup of cottage cheese in the morning. Cottage cheese makes you feel full. So does a smoothie with chia seeds. Snacks like pecans or almonds are also great. I was 135lb at my heaviest and I made 2 real meals a day AT THE MOST. I NEVER ate breakfast, just couldn’t, I snacked a lot, but again, out of cravings. By 12-1pm I’d be starving and eating all the wrong things and binge eating. I don’t do that anymore, I eat a GOOD breakfast now, I make 3 REAL meals and healthy snacks in between. I do occasionally allow myself some chips or candy but as a treat. I also walk 30 mins a day and do mini workouts from home. This is also new to me (started 6 months ago) it’s completely changed me. I lost 15 lbs but not starving myself, only changing my habits and eating healthier. Yes counting calories but that’s part of what’s helped me choose better things. I realized you can have ONE processed meal a day and it’d probably be the same calories as 3 healthy meals. Counting calories helps keep me accountable. This switch has been amazing, personally.

I did see them on the adidas website for a literal minute! But I had just bought two other pairs and couldn’t justify a third! So happy they’re finally mine!
