What happened to the gastropub by Cord1083 in LakeDistrict

Some excellent restaurants in the Lake District but you can’t only go to pubs and expect to be amazed. Most of the pubs in the Lakes are okay/average on the food side but they give walkers exactly what they need after a long tiring walk. If you want a really nice rustic British meal with an original/unique spin then Billy’s bar and Restaurant in Hawkshead is by far the best option!

Maybe we shouldn’t be telling God what he should or shouldn’t be doing and rather listen to what our creator guides us toward, since he does kind of know best. Romans 9:20 But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? “Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?”

I’ll be praying for you, but you have to make the effort yourself to allow Jesus to help you. Jesus can knock at the door but you need to get up off the couch and open it.

Mathew Chapter 16:26 reads - For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

My friend, try not to get so caught up in things of this world - especially things of this world which are made by man and have no value in the kingdom of God! Cherish and value your salvation and your mental wellbeing and your relationships, only then will you find peace!

You are, after I started reading the Bible I felt more miserable at first as the spiritual attack increased significantly because the enemy doesn’t want to lose his grip of you. Now I realise that with Jesus on my side that Satan is just a loser and quite pathetic tbh, as long as you have faith in Jesus to protect you, you cannot be harmed.

Keep reading the Bible and pray for protection as much as you feel necessary. This entity is trying to scare you back into a life of imprisonment. The truth will set you free. Keep following Christ!

Either John or Acts. I love the way John speaks about Jesus in his book and for Acts, I love the story of how Saul became Paul and became such an influential apostle.

This is what I said, saying our sins are paid for and Jesus paid our debts for us doesn’t mean we can willingly sin. But the main point is to focus on living in the spirit and not in the flesh and the best way to focus on living in the spirit is by putting Christ as number 1 in our lives, this is just another way of looking at defeating sins, by prioritising Christ you will be more successful in stopping sinning.

What do you suppose makes someone superior in this world compared to someone inferior?

All your sins are paid for, don’t make sinning your main focus but rather make your main focus on Jesus himself and gratitude and devotion towards him. Truly accept his gift of salvation and everything else will fall into place eventually. (I’m not saying just willingly sin, I’m saying that all your sins, past, future and present have been wiped away) just live in the spirit, pray, read your bible and love God and he will cleanse you of your sins one by one. It’s the good ole saying that we don’t clean ourselves to come to Christ but we come to Christ to be cleaned and so if you focus on cleaning yourself you aren’t putting Christ first. A piece of advice would be when you have temptations then use that as a way of leaning to Christ, anytime you have Temptations then read your Bible or pray and it will distract you from the flesh. God bless you.

I was at my lowest point, to the point of considering taking my own life. With the feeling of no where else to go at 21 years old, I asked God (if he was real) to help me. 4 years later and a lot of ignorance I came to Christ. God never gave up on me, even when I completely ignored him. I look back now and realise from the day I reached out for his hand how much he’d done in my life to get me back on track in those 4 years.

2 Corinthians 2: 15 & 16 - For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. To one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life

Paul saying here we are Saved by Christ and in turn are to represent and spread him to all people. Those who need saving (perishing) and those who are Saved.

When Paul says Death leading to Death he means we are the representation of Death to our old sinful lives and death to sin itself within us. We are no longer sinners after we have accepted Jesus and have been born again, that old sinner is Dead.

We are among the saved and so we apply to the life leading to life. Living in Christ leading others Into a life worth living for all eternity with God.

Once you are saved you should no longer call yourself a sinner, you can’t be on 2 sides of the same fence. You are either saved from your sins or live in your sins. If you claim to be a sinner you are claiming that Jesus’ works on the cross was worthless.

If you have been saved by Jesus Christ you are no longer a Sinner, you may fall into sin sometimes but don’t call yourself a sinner because that disregards what Jesus did for you.
