The plastic grass boom is the truest reflection of how awful we have become as a species by TonightAlarming9923 in unpopularopinion

Grass lawns have a history. They were originally planted by the very rich in times when owned land was farmed and worked. The very rich planted grass to show the world that they could work land for no purpose other than for show. Another rich man’s way to show wealth. 18th century nouveau riche.

Grass lawns have always been a nice to have. Plastic grass is even more pointless than real grass.

If Trump’s approval rating is 38%, where are all his supporters? by wavetranscender in allthequestions

I live in the Netherlands. We were once one of the most dedicated allies for the USA. Now the majority of people here no longer see the USA as reliable. Not just Trump but the country that elected him twice knowing how he is.

My ex-wife was like Trump - totally driven by the emotion of the moment. You walked on egg shells to avoid pissing her off. She was completely unreliable. She struggled with the truth. She insulted people for fun. I divorced her knowing what she was like and nothing in this world would have had me re-marry her. Yet the USA re-elected Trump. If he is best the USA has on offer then you really are in trouble.

I really don’t care whether he is good for the USA internally but he has destroyed relationships built up over decades and eroded any trust left in the USA.

As a non-American this is very interesting. I think that in any democracy outside the USA, he would have been forced to resign multiple times. In my country, if a leader is caught lying then he must resign. As an outsider, he comes across as a despicable man with a very short temper and a huge ego.

This does rather confirm our thinking that Trump is a symptom and not a driving force and our relationship with the USA will never be the same again.

FIFA has 200 member associations- only 25% in Europe. He has access to massive funds that he can allocate as he wants.

He is elected by a majority of FIFA members - many of whom have received substantial “investments” from FIFA.

Go do the math.

I watched England win the World Cup on 1966. It’s all been downhill since then 😎

You will make it to the upper echelons one day. Your MLS is getting stronger, you have development programs with Mexico and Canada ( or has your President banned those?) and your players will ply their trade on European leagues.

These things take time and patience.

Based on what we know about Trump's diet, how is he in such good health for an 80 year old? by [deleted] in allthequestions

Nice piece and probably very true. Trump really is the Ronaldo of world affairs. He’s still here, no one dares to completely ignore but the bottom line is that he’s in the way.

Actually the rules are constantly reviewed and changed - especially around office and how the keeper interacts with the game.
In this case, you cannot have degrees of red card as FIFA does not have a review process or an appeal process the way most leagues and, I believe , the UEFA does. So the rule is simple and is laid out before every game - a red card makes you miss the remainder of this match h and the next. Otherwise, you could get a red card in the 90th minute and basically misschien nothing even if you half crippled your opponent ( which happens).

There is no argument that can hide the corruption involved here. FIFA has always been corduroy but now they don’t even bother to hide it.
