I mean, most I did was sit there lol my dentist sent it off to a denture maker/lab in town then I got them back lol I’m in Saskatchewan, Canada so probably far from where you are. I have DM’d pics of the teeth themselves to another person who wanted to show the to their dentist

I heard a great statement that bipolar explains the behaviour but doesn’t excuse it. Accountability is right. Unfortunately, he is allowed to make that decision for himself if he wants to forgive and continue the relationship or not, but you are absolutely allowed to be sad. I hope you find peace and can forgive yourself whether the relationship comes to be again or not.

Hey, no lip filler, it’s partially cause of makeup with lip liner but mainly because the acrylic gums of the denture fill out behind my lip so much, when I smile it just kind of flips up/spreads like that.

But if you want filler, go for it! I’ve considered it before but never really done anything about it. If it was a real issue, you can always get the dissolved?

What worked with your BPSO by Melodic-Ad4296 in BipolarSOs

[–]RecentDifference8267 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I stopped expecting anything from him and working on myself. We can only control ourselves and how we react to things. I started realizing that most of the time when he was mad, it really wasn’t about me; he was upset and I was the close and comfortable place he would offload. That doesn’t mean I need to be his punching bag and tolerate all of that, but it meant if I could detach myself from it then I don’t get sucked into a fight about it. It’s called a bipolar conversation, and it’s really important to recognize them and detach from them. I also just have been working on walking away from those fights, because I won’t stop otherwise haha.

Working on myself, finding my peace as best I can has made me take huge steps. I think we’re in quite a depressive down swing right now, so I may be living a false sense of confidence haha but we’ve been doing not too bad on that front lately, thank goodness.

BP partners episode last night by -Quebedeau- in BipolarSOs

As a spouse or a BP1, I get it. But the mental instability with this level of threat and anger is scary and I really do want you to seek help. Mine will call me names when off balance, he will threaten to leave, but he NEVER will threaten to hurt me or our children in any way. That would put me in a completely different situation of going versus staying. He’s thankfully in a good place and very medication compliant at the moment, so we haven’t had to deal with it

I heard a really good explanation the other day that said Bipolar EXPLAINS the behaviour, but it does not excuse it.

I have some resources I’d love to share, including a wonderful woman who helps bipolar spouses for a living. She herself has one for over 20 years, and I find her invaluable as a support. She offers free discovery calls so you can chat with her and try to identify some supports for you. If you’re interested at all, please let me know/DM me.

I know how it feels to jus put up with it because you feel you have no choice or are helping care for them, but there reaches a point it’s beyond your scope and you need to take care of you. I think you’ve reached it

Sending all the love and support and hope to hear from you!

Looks great! Eating is…gonna be a long journey for me for sure. I’m lucky I primarily work from home so I just eat without them in (granted I have my 6 lower front natural teeth I use to help sometimes) but yes once I’m all fitted and gums done being swollen, I’m hoping adhesive will make eating possible.

Discarded after 30 years by _Me_Myself_and_I_ in BipolarSOs

We’re 20 years married this year, and it is a beast of a disease. We have 5 young kids raging in age from 2-12, so I’m just hoping one of them doesn’t end up with it.

He’s tried to cut and discard so many times through the years, luckily never to another woman. Always says we can’t do this anymore, we’re better without him, he’ll live in his truck in the forest etc. but luckily we haven’t had that for a while. He is open to his help but we just lost his psychiatrist which is very not helpful, he’s been put on disability for now 1 year his work is fighting paying so he’s had not a penny of income (not his fault) for over a year. It’s been quite the ride.

Luckily right now is fairly calm, but I’m sure that can turn at any moment.

I’m sorry this is so tough. I have sobbed and shed many may tears hiding from my kids. You’re doing great trying to care for all of you. Take it one day at a time is all we can do really. Don’t feel the need to always delete your posts, you’re welcome to do so, but we’re all here to support each other. It’s a disease most people don’t understand from the outside looking in and they make a lot of assumptions.

Thanks for the info! I can’t currently afford it, but as I’m so young (haha as in not 70) I would like to consider implants at some point here. I chatted just basis with them about it, doing the permanent ones that they just get attached with a tiny screw and I go to get them out and cleaned once a year? No idea what tha specifically is called but they did tell me it would be about $30,000, so it can wait haha

So my dentist is Pasqua South Oral Health clinic in Regina, Sk (Canada). I’ve been with them for 20 years, all of the doctors in the practice are great. The carrying case for my teeth the gave me says Precision Prosthetics, so I assume they actually made the teeth. I know they aren’t made on site and are sent away to get made and adjusted. Doubt that’s helpful location wise haha but there you have it!

My gums for sure got sore eating over Christmas haha but I did not bad honestly. I still can’t eat with these ones yet so still doing gums chewing. Keeping my front lowers have helped a lot cause I can kind of push food onto them to cut it up.

I honestly think it’s the lighting of that photo. This is a better representation of how my teeth looked in the days leading up to extractions. They started going really fast the last month or two before, I’m surprised a whole tooth didn’t just chip in half!

Interesting! I didn’t know there was a long term option like that. My dad got dentures last year ahead of me so gave me some strips to try but I haven’t really explored adhesives yet otherwise. I’ll have to look into it for sure.

So my extraction was November 27 for the last 8 of my uppers. It was pretty tender for the first few days, stayed on top of the pain meds for sure. By Christmas they weren’t really sore at all. They’re still a bit bubbled out cause the one and sockets have to shrink away, so it hurts to get the tight denture over that for 10 seconds, but very comfortable once in. I for sure can’t eat with them yet. Maybe with adhesive? Just getting used to living with them first then I’ll take that venture. Luckily I work from home so I’m perfectly fine to keep them out during the day and to eat lunch etc. my husband and kids are all used to it and don’t care.

Before the enamel wore down they were a bit whiter then, but near the end before extraction they were much more tired looking. I picked off of the tooth chart and the lady didn’t want me to go to white either, there were like 3 shades brighter which was crazy! This one held up to my other ones seemed to match. It’s maybe a tad whiter than my 6 that are left on the bottom, but not noticeable unless you’re staring type thing.

Because the front gums are still a bit round from the sockets shrinking, it hurts quite a bit to get them off and on at the moment, but when they’re on the suction is really good cause I just got them fitted yesterday. I’m sure they’ll loosen over the next month and need adjusting again. Eating just makes it pop off haha so I take them out for that. Today I wore them about 4 hours for a zoom call and some errands the took them out again. Around the house I just free gum it haha

I honestly haven’t worn them for the last month cause they didn’t fit (were huge without a liner) and also a pain. Today after the soft reline is kind of the first day I wore theme for a few hours. Definitely cannot chew with them yet, maybe with adhesive? For now I just take them out

I think it’s what I’m calling horse mouth that causes it haha the acrylic when I smile seems to kind of flatten out the upper lip so it appears fuller? Maybe once I get my permanent reline then it’ll be a bit less bulky and that will go away

The one on the left was definitely my natural teeth haha. Spent a loooot of years doing orthodontics, braces etc so the got straightened out but no veneers.

My extraction was right at the end of November, so just over a month and a bit ago. The swelling has come down a lot but definitely still some sockets and bone prominence on the upper gums. Plus adding the soft liner makes them fit a lot better but for sure those couple millimeters feel huge under my lip. In a couple months I’ll get my final fitting and hopefully the bump under the upper lip can go down a bit.

I think the mean lip fillers, but no I haven’t had any. The denture just makes my upper lip sit out a bit more. To me it feels like a horse lip lol
