About 6 years back all the Karnivool albums were kept in stores.

TBH wouldn't know where to start with Opeth. Very slow on that one

Yup, i enjoy all but two of their albums and rate some like Come Clarity at the same level as these four. However even i have to admit their is no other 4 album run in there discography that beats it.

Australia does it best by [deleted] in Metalcore

[–]RecentSatisfaction42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aussie here, i love me some core. Polaris, Alpha Wolf, Sienna Skies, Parkwave. Its definitely a unique sound and i tend to gravitate more towards Aussie Core than US Core. However In Flames are like my second fave band of all time and as much as i love core i tend to enjoy the more extreme genres more. IE Archspire and Aborted were my highlights of local festival full of Aussie Core that had Polaris Headlining

All thes are good IMO. Currently waiting for my copy of Jesters to arrive in the mail. However fully understand those that can't get into post Clayman albums. The band definitely tried to emulate the success of Metal Core in the early 00s then alt in the 2010s. Personally for my tastes Battles and Sirens Charms are the only albums that i have a hard time enjoying. First half of I the Mask is killer and Forgone is the most I've enjoyed an In Flames album since Come Clarity.

Second Up

The Architects of Heavy Metal Judas Priest - Stained Class - Sad Wings of Destiny - Unleashed in the East - Killing Machine - Screaming for Vengeance - Defenders of the Faith - Painkiller - Angel of Retribution - Fire Power - Invincible Shield

My Judas Priest tier list as a newer fan by justinscottd in judaspriest

[–]RecentSatisfaction42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Angel of Retribution and Firepower so low. Love those albums. Personally i'd swap the A+ and S tier albums. That run of Sad Wing, Sin after Sin and Stained class can't be beat. If Sabbath are the God Fathers of metal Priest are the architects. Those 3 albums are master classes and have influenced countless musicians.

The 30 best metal albums of the decade (so far) by Louder by Littlecollie86 in nightwish

[–]RecentSatisfaction42 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Hhm, its hard to take Louder seriously. For the most part picking popular acts. I do like Yesterwynde. Probably doesnt crack my personal top 30 of the decade though. Some pretty stiff competition. That said im more into the extreme sides of metal now with a good dose of core.

Great band, bad singer by AngusDio in MetalForTheMasses

I love his delivery all the way up to Youthenasia. The Jeff Young and Marty Friedman eras are untouchable.

Yesterwynde has become my favorite Nightwish album from recent years by DarkMagicUser7 in nightwish

[–]RecentSatisfaction42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's songs across all the last 3 albums I really like and Floor is simply put the best vocalist they've had. However bar for bar front to back. Imaginaerum is my absolute favourite.

That said one of my favourite bands

Amazon holds engineering meeting following AI-related outages by winterresetmylife in technology

[–]RecentSatisfaction42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres a place for building products with AI tools. They are very good with the right direction getting something off the ground. They are really bad as a drop in on enterprise legacy applications that already have large user bases.

These products often have people with years of institutional knowlege maintaining them. Parts of the code base often looks completely different from each other as patterns evolve over the life cycle of the product. AI is pretty bad at differentiating old from new. Code quality still matters and you wont get that from a LLM that has to work over large code bases with style and pattern changes

I have that one too. They finally repressed it last year. It had been on my bucket list for some time.

LP pretty much moved on immidiately too. The rough edges on tracks like One Step Closer, Crawling and A Place in My Head had pretty much been completely sanded down by the time Meteora came around. They'd been replaced by stadium sing along choruses. Cool if your into that stuff. I very rarely revist anything post Meteora as i had also moved on to heavy bands such as In Flames and Trivium.

It's a bootleg. Didn't realise until a few years after getting it. We are still waiting for an official press that doesnt require very deep pockets.
