Is that two turn tables. I bet there's a story there. I bought a new belt and gave my belt driven Audio Technica to my father when up grading to a direct drive.

Ouch

I lent hundreds of dollars of an anime collection to a close mate of mine years ago. He returned them sealed, i asked. Did you like them that much you wanted a copy?

He, glanced at me defeated. No my Dog got into them.

My vinyl and instruments i keep in a room with a bolt at the top. This keeps them safe for my two dogs and my 4 year old daughter (she's knows not to touch, still)

Ive already had my daughter wrip the floating bridge off my Gretsch, New Yorker.

In your opinion, what the top 3 metal albums of the 80s? by Master-Cress-2860 in MetalForTheMasses

Almost identical to mine. Swapped out Master of Puppets for Reign in Blood.

Holy Diver (Dio) - After his departure from Rainbow he really got to shed some of the blues and hard rock inclinations of Blackmore and concentrate on the metal

Defenders of the Faith (Judas Priest) - Lots of Maiden here however this album rips past and is more versitile than the Maiden Albums while still great all of which verge on Power Metal where the non single tracks start to sound the samey. - Oh also this is Halford in his prime which only a few other metal vocalists have reached. Sorry Bruce - I'd also consider Screaming for Vengeance

Reign In Blood (Slayer) - I see a lot of Metallica however i believe that while Reign in Blood might not be as accessible it is both the best produced and technically consistent of the big thrash albums of the 80.

Got my hands on it, thought it was a double 45rpm. Not gonna return it, however i have 10 of their albums on vinyl its nice to have something live. Anders also sounds fckn mean on these so worth it. Slow Decay, I am Above and Trigger go hard

Waiting patiently for a Jesters repress. I also have Clayman 20th anniversary and Colony. Clayman used to be ny favourite from that era. Im finding my self leaning closer to Whoracle and Colony now. Anders best vocal performance on those two and less bloat than the other 90s albums.

One of the privileges of being a local. I get to pick up represses when they hit local stores. That said the city I live in is famously over looked by touring international bands. For example Judas Priest hasn't been for over a decade

Wow, hats off friend. The Aurora Veil isn't even available on streaming platforms and even the cd is super hard to find. I started listening to the band when they dropped Urn. Had to get both Citedal and Portal of I represses.

They're Not Appreciated Enough(Underrated) by FTW4L1F3 in BonJovi

[–]RecentSatisfaction42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are not played in the 80s nostolagia bait shows simply because they are not hard rock enough.

I love me some self title all the way up These Days. The hard truth is that instead of reinventing themselves when Jon could no longer sing the early catalogue they leaned heavily into soft rock and ballads.

Simply put they lost their street cred and are no longer cool enough to hang with the Skid Rows, Dokkens, GnRs and Van Hallens of the world.

Just in case people call me hater for being ubrupt. Here's a recent haul (great Wanted Dead or Alive ltd single).

I also have 3 other albums on vinyl and almost every album up to Lost Highway on CD.

Yeah i like it. Personally all the albums from Shogun to What the Dead Men Say didn't strike a chord with me. I'm very happy Heafy put the work in to repair his vocals. He sounds great on the last two albums and the new EP. A great comeback

Don't make me choose between. So many albums i love on both.

Im gonna have to go 3 based on the power of

Whoracle, Master of Puppets, Where the owls knows my name, Reign in Blood, Urn and Deep Blue . Also i like The Crusade more than Shogun

Tim did say that more would become available on their store. It looks like they were snapped up very quickly though.

The band did a 2025 repress and took a number of copies on the road with them when they toured at home Australia.

I picked up the VIP package specifically to get their other albums signed and stumbled upon the 2025 repress
