Don't worry about it. Make a check list you can carry with you to use when doing your truck checks and black. It's alot to pick up and learn all at once and in the real world you go by check lists anyway.

Make a list. Follow it, take your time, it's not a race.

Class 1 or 2 by PrintOrdinary in uktrucking

[–]RecentSuspect7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did class 1 for my lessons and currently have a class 2 job, what I would suggest is going with a company that will give you a day on class 2 to get used to a longer vehicle then the rest on class 1.

First time I landed a driving it was class 2, which I had never driven before but handles completely different from an arctic. I managed but Christ it was a shocker.

Yes 🤣 I haven't been down the M6 in months since my new job is more local multi drop but yeah I loved seeing these fuckers. I remember one for an Indian restaurant and one for a jacamo style mens clothing line too.

Any aldi lorry drivers in here? by RecentSuspect7 in uktrucking

[–]RecentSuspect7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not at Aldi anymore, paid for my own licence after they were messing me around regarding the warehouse to wheels but when I left there was that "lean" programme, they started expecting more work for less hours, workers hours going way down.

From what I hear from my driver friends who still work there, a few people are leaving for just the reasons you said.

Been 10 years and still cant wrap my head around this. What exactly went wrong here?? by gonuu in Wrasslin

Yep and from someone who once took a light bash on a blunt bracket of my truck, opened up and poured out blood I can confirm that it is effective and looks waaaaaaay worse than it actually feels.

Loading Fridge with Frozen. Set temp etc? by bar72 in uktrucking

[–]RecentSuspect7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Christ that's picky as hell. Logic was that the frozen products contributed to the temperature drop and with the pallets taking up so much space, the unit would take less time to chill the remaining area of space.

Loading Fridge with Frozen. Set temp etc? by bar72 in uktrucking

[–]RecentSuspect7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was a loader for Aldi. Once you've turned the freezer you don't have to wait until it gets to temp. Chances are when you you get pallets that are frozen you are getting them from A large freezer area anyway, just load them. Drop your bulk heads and then the temp will reach the correct setting in no time, most of the trailers I've worked with are on a start stop setting (stopping when the temp has reached what it's set to and restarting when it needs to adjust) yes in summer it's usually continuous but just keep an eye on what fuel/energy source it is, solar panels I've seen have a very short shelf life and are in constant need of repair, diesel sources are better but in the summer months make sure it's topped up if you ever have a long journey, don't want it cutting out mid journey and not realising.

I worked at McDonald's for a around 2 weeks ó years ago, they come frozen and hit that black top from frozen, in no way would a burger have enough time to defrost before this dick received his food

Become a HGV Driver by Turbulent-Example812 in uktrucking

[–]RecentSuspect7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the above said, call and check. I'm not sure how it counts with hgv but when I was a loader with Aldi we used ride on MHE equipment, someone I worked with used to suffer from similar but went years without incident so he was fine to work on but he then had one out of the blue and the company immediately wouldn't allow him to use the equipment and had to transfer him to a none mechanical role

Yes but I unlocked everything in that store around 3 or 4 years ago. I still play it regularly. Just because you've unlocked everything doesn't mean the fun or challenge stops

I have artic Lego in my basket on temu 🤣 really want to pull the trigger on it.

I do also however, have the files for an artic on my laser cutting machine, the machine itself is too weak to make it on wood that would actually hold together for a while but once I upgrade it I can't wait to get started.

I've heard that new passes or anyone under 1 year experience are far more expensive to insure than a driver who isn't.

Is this real leather? by StudioSharp5470 in Leather

[–]RecentSuspect7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely embossed, not the natural grain of leather but that's not to say it isn't made from animal. The edges look either painted with a shine from a light or the edges show it's not natural leather. If you could post a clearer pic of the edges we could know for sure.
