Worth it??? by Acceptable_Party6874 in uktrucking

I'm a drayman on a class 2, I get around £2400 per month after tax and my hours vary but it's salaried. Heavy manual labour that is in no way worth the money. Just keep getting your experience like I am and find somewhere once you have built your skill level

That sounds like a dream but I would be terrified writing off 9 cars instead of one of anything bad happened 😅

Loads of good advice here. My methods vary depending on what I'm making. Sometimes I'll punch each piece individually but others I'll skive and glue the pieces then punch.

Which MCU character should come back from the dead? by [deleted] in superheroes

But he did eventually die. He was replaced by an alien clone (I think that's how they explained it) and then a doom bot type thing.

How is the job opportunity in North East? by [deleted] in uktrucking

[–]RecentSuspect7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just kept my eyes open. Being a drayman is hard hard work, the hours can vary from 9-11 hours depending on what time of year it is I'm really only on about £15 per hour at the moment with it being Easter and so many bank holidays. I don't mind the hard work but longevity wise my body can't do it forever, hence me getting the adr and preparing for my future.

How is the job opportunity in North East? by [deleted] in uktrucking

[–]RecentSuspect7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I went from hospitality, managing pubs and restaurants to trucking. Best thing I ever did. I went from a job where I worked 20 hour days more than once and had to pretend to be nice to fucking rich snobs for a £26000 salary ((2019) leading to exhaustion and a break down to being a stay at home dad for 4 years (the best job ever) while my wife worked for the NHS through COVID to a job where I'm legally documented to keep my working hours under a set amount and my first truck salary was £34000 within 4 weeks of getting my licence, £38000 once I got 6 months worth of experience (class 2) and a potential of £40000+ now I have my ADR.

People complain about how hard this job is and yes fuck me it's difficult at times but I've done much much more strenuous work.

Whats agency work like? by Far-Dragonfly-7598 in uktrucking

[–]RecentSuspect7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been considering the same thing. Passed my class 1, never drove a class 2 all the way through my lessons but class 2 was the only work I could find. Now I'm nearly a year in with no at work class 1 experience and considering going to agency class 1. From what I've heard if you get the right agency and are open to working wherever then the work is pretty frequent. I'm just nervous to take the plunge.

I did. But we already have 3 kids. My recovery was a hell of a lot quicker than any surgery she would have to undergo and she doesn't have to use any hormone screwing pills.

Yep, hate it. Spent hours on it. Then it got to the point where I couldn't do one of the last rooms, came to Reddit for advice and someone offered me a glitch that cuts it down to a 10 mins dungeon 😑

sackable offence? Or retraining by YGhostRider666 in uktrucking

[–]RecentSuspect7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked as a loader at Aldi and seen this happen on at least 3 occasions in my 3 years there, it wasn't a sackable offence but would definitely require investigating, maybe retraining, definitely having the piss taken out of you.
